Chapter 1: Familiar Gaze

Levi:

"Erwin has ordered to follow that bitch titan and save Eren's ass...tsk, how annoying, that brat is a hope for future of people among the walls."

While he was flying with his 3DMG he saw his old squad bodies laid and floating in the air. He saw a familiar orange-blonde girl with hurt eyes open "She died" Levi thought "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all..."

Petra was a nice and simple girl, you could get to know her in a glimpse of a time and you would know she loved LEVI. It's a lie to say Levi didn't like her but he never returned her affection because she was just reminiscent of a little girl, a sister, he once had and lost the very first time they fought Titans.

As Levi continued on following the female titan suddenly he saw a figure passed by his side so fast that, it almost felt he imagined it but no, it was a black haired girl going after that titan and screaming Eren's name. Her voice made him tremble for a moment and he wondered why?! she was cutting and slashing that titan so fast like he was the one doing it! but when the feeling rushed through her, she almost lost the control on her moves and he grabbed her waist to stop her making mistake by going on "Back off now, I'm with you" as soon as he let her go she glared at him with deathly eyes " Is he dead?" He asked; "Eren's alive" as he wanted to make sure she frowned harder and insisted "He's Alive". Suddenly she started scolding him for not doing proper job on protecting Eren "is she condemntioning me now?!!" he thought "Oh it's that brat from court with that gaze...I see"

That day when he saw Mikasa trying to interfere and Armin stopped her, with that dark and deathly gaze on her face sent shiver down his body, it reminded him of his one and only crystal clear memory of his mother before she passed away from starvation and sickness.

A month before Levi's mother got sick and died, a man came to visit them, he couldn't see his face, but he wasn't so tall almost his mother's height and only his voice when he said " This filthy bastard isn't mine you crazy whore." and rushed to him trying strangle him; that's when his mother ran and grabbed the man's throat with her eyes burning with anger and hatred.

"How could she glare like her?" Levi mumbled "Oh I see, they both has someone to protect I guess."

Mikasa:

"This shorty! He's not allowing me to do my job just like him failing protecting my one and only family." Mikasa was ferocious "Why he always gets in trouble? Why?" she desperately mumbled. She took another look at the captain and thought "Why he looks so gloomy all of sudden?" and she actually felt sympathy towards him!

When they approached the female titan it was her only duty to draw her attention and rushed in front of her simply watching captain slash and tear that bitch! "He's too fast for her to harden her skin!" While she was amazed by Levi's speed and skill in wielding his blades, titan's nape got free to cut and eventually kill her. Without thinking about the risk she rushed to slit its neck but the female felt the danger and raised her hand to smash her.

"NO!" Levi yelled, Mikasa noticed the threat but it was late to react and fell.

Levi:

"NO" he yelled "Not this time, Not another one!" He pushed himself to jump and take back Eren so they can leave as soon as possible but a sudden pain took his whole left leg. shook it and after cutting her jaws, snatched Eren out.
"Eren!" Mikasa sighed with relieved expression. "She's fine, he's safe and they're alive...no more loss for today." Levi mumbled underneath his breath "We got your precious friend back didn't we?" he said with tortured eyes. "Why do you care so much about him? what this brat means to you? Is he more precious than your own life? do you think of anything else rather than his safety?" he held these thoughts until they joined others.

Mikasa:

"No... I just..." she continued with silent voice "I just didn't want to lose my family again, I promised to keep him safe."

Don't worry fellas in 2 or three chapters we get to see some good RivaMika moments, I'm simply planting foundation!
