Levi:About a week after the attack of the female Titan to capital, Erwin woke up.
"Hange, we should leave now that Erwin's awake. Gather your squad and then we leave." Said Levi while drinking his tea in peace but apparently his mind wasn't at ease as his face.
"Eh!? Oh sure we should move when it's dark like your squad, but you go ahead with Connie I have somewhere to go before that" Hange answered with puzzled face.
"And where are you going? Shopping?" asked Levi sarcastically.
"No I should check on minister Nick; I have some questions from him."
Levi nodded and then left Hange. "I wonder how are the brats doing?" though Levi and knocked on Connie's door "Oi, we're about to leave, pack your stuff." Then he left not waiting for him to answer. The air at the base for the past week felt so stuffy and things were strangely calm in the capital as military also stopped bugging them with the titan matter.
He spent all his day, signing documents he hated to deal with and listen to Hange's new discoveries about Titans and even if there wasn't anything new, he had to bear with old stuff.
He never enjoyed killing titans. He did it because he had to, but when he was flying with his gears and his squad next to him, he felt the freedom the most. That's why he wanted to get back to their routine of leaving the walls and go for hunting titans. He wasn't a man to be tied somewhere for long, at least not until he finally saw the sky. He almost forgot how he was able to live all those years underground without the sight of the clear sky and the bright sun on his skin.
They rode the whole night to get there. For his urge to do something different from signing documents and dealing with all troops, he never stopped even to fill their flasks and though Connie was tired of the long road but he didn't dare to ask for a stop.
They arrived early in the morning and from far they were standing on their horses, they saw Jean, Armin and Sasha entering the house with food supplies. Not very farther, he saw two girls walking the same path.
"Connie you take horses to stable" then he hopped down of his horse. Somehow he didn't want to enter the house before those girls...before Mikasa, he wanted to see how she's doing when he's not around, does she act irritated toward others too or it's just him. "What the fuck was she doing? Cutting woods!?" thought Levi.
He hesitated for them to get inside and hid himself so they wouldn't notice him! Mikasa turned her head toward where he was hiding "Why am I hiding like this? I'm the leader of this fucking squad for fuck sake! Yet I'm hiding here like a dog...Tch." once Mikasa and Historia entered, he headed to the door to get inside and heard Armin's voice "What?! You were cutting wood?!" Levi stopped to hear the rest. He thought she's been doing it because others were far too lazy to do so but apparently she did it on her own.
"I don't want to go soft." She answered like it's an obvious matter and there's no reason to ask.
"You're not a wild animal! You shouldn't be moving yet!" Armin sounded as if he could feel how painful it must be to do a job that exactly requires upper body strength.
"Yeah, though she acts as one but she's not! Not yet. Someone should've stopped her." Levi thought with a frown.
"I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen. Says she's already healed...in fact she was doing push-ups." Eren answered defeated with a broom in his hand.
"Oh not listening to Eren...that's new!" Levi wondered. "You were peeping on her?!" Jean shouted angrily." Not like you're any different though." thought Levi to himself. Hearing what Armin said next, made him remember his old squad "I know we lost a lot of soldiers...why were we chosen for squad Levi?"
