Dinner passed in peace. Only Sasha, Jean or Hange and other troops said few words that made others laugh and Armin and Eren talked a bit to accompany them but, among all of them, Mikasa and Levi's silence was pressing the most. They had the darkest silence, though Connie and Historia weren't so talkative as well, Mikasa and Levi didn't even look at the others or smile a bit to their funny actions and stories. One thinking about his blurred origin and his lonely days, other thinks about unknown future and how she has to face it to protect everyone in that room.
*After Dinner*
Hange wanted to give the night to one the new scouts but as Armin looked at Mikasa's face he suggested "Ah Hange how about I take care of it tonight and tomorrow they can have it? I'm sure all of you are tired of the ride today."
Hange and other troops accepted his offer willingly and thanked him. Mikasa looked uneasy at first but after Armin's suggestion she looked at him in surprise.
When everyone returned to their rooms Armin clapped Mikasa's shoulder with a smile "Go on Mikasa...just if you felt even a little bit sleepy come back inside and I'll stand in your stead, Ok?" said Armin sincerely in a way that everyone specially Mikasa could tell that he is one of the kindest guy you could meet in your life. "Thank you for not trying to stop me!" Mikasa thanked him before he goes upstairs.
"I know you're having headaches again and...well I know you have to keep yourself busy as well." Armin turned to go but stopped to say "And I heard Jean and Sasha mentioned that you took their shift earlier so it's better to just let you have it directly..." then he left.
Mikasa wandered in the hall for a while wondering how sometimes her friends know what she exactly needs even though she might not realize it. What Mikasa didn't actually know was Levi's presence at the corner of the kitchen and that he heard everything.
Levi:
"What's so great in doing that shit that makes you push yourself so much?" thought Levi and just like last night he walked out of kitchen's door, leaned his back on the beam and watched her for a while. "So you have headaches too brat..." He rubbed his face with his hand "Tch...I must be out of my mind to do this..." then he took off his coat and left it with his cup on the rail then he walked towards her.
"You can only break your bones with this shitty posture instead of titans." Said Levi when he was close enough for her to hear him.
Mikasa suddenly turned with widened eyes as she recognized the voice right away. She didn't expect anyone to be awake at that hour or anyone to notice her in the darkness of the moonless night. "Cap...Captain? Why are you here?" for a moment she was about to explain why she's on the night shift instead of Armin and to explain wearing her 3dmg but then she thought "There is no need to explain myself to this shorty!"
Levi froze for a moment then glowered his face for her rude attitude but decided to let it slide "You shouldn't use your arms and forearms to spin in the air, you have to use your shoulder and waist..." He continued.
"Wha...how do you know what I'm doing? There's no need to..." she asked him in interrogating way again!
Levi was about to run out of patience. He buttonholed her and said "Ok look you insolent brat! You don't get to scold me cause it's my job so, if you're so desperate to do this stupid move let me tell you how before your body cuts in half for it!"
