Chapter 17: Bow and Arrow

As soon as Hange and other scouts arrived they all gathered in the hall and discussed the Eren's experiment and Priest Nick's death.

*After the meeting*

Mikasa and her other friends helped Hange's squad to settle their stuff in their rooms and then Armin and Eren joined in Hange's room to discuss the plan for Eren's experiment. Things sounded boring since there wasn't much to do for everyone else. Two of new soldier's in Hange's squad to the morning watch, Connie and Jean went to stable to feed the horses and carry them. Nifa and Mobilit (1) also joined them after a while to check on the gears condition.

Levi stayed in his room and drank his tea in peace, drowning himself in his thoughts. Historia kept herself busy in the kitchen and Mikasa found something interesting to do. Sasha also swung between Hall and Kitchen but eventually she settled in the hall and watched Mikasa as she was the only one doing something interesting.

The interesting job Mikasa found to do was unloading shotguns and clean each part to connect them together later.

"Ugh...I'm so bored! I want to do something too, why there's nothing to do for me?!" Sasha pouted and slammed her head on the table. Historia looked out the kitchen door that opened in the hall as she heard the bang sound of Sasha's head. Mikasa indifferently kept wiping the barrel "Hmm..I always wanted to see how guns work...interesting!" Mikasa replied to Sasha not caring of what she actually said.

"Huh...what's so interesting about it? I can shoot much better with my bow than with this noisy thing! You can't even control your balance once it's shot and it's unnecessarily heavy." Sasha raised her head as if she wanted to defend her honor as a bow fighter!

"If you're that good why don't you show me how to shoot with it...I might help you with guns as well!" This time Mikasa looked her way with the corner of her eyes. Her sparkling eyes, hid in the shadow of her eyelashes but Sasha could spot the passion coming from her so she jumped off her sit and the chair fall on its back.

Mikasa just finished assembling the gun, loaded it and the sound of it echoed in the hall as a figure to show her consent on Sasha's suggestion.

"ooooh Mikaaaasaaa you are a genius...It's much more fun than anything else!" screamed Sasha and ran outside to prepare bow and arrows and a target panel as well.

"Hey Historia...care to join? You seem to be done by the lunch" Mikasa clapped Historia's shoulder with a serious expression.

"Uh yeah sure" Historia also looked interested to join so just shut the oven and headed out along with Mikasa.

*Few Minutes Later*

"Wow you really are as fast learner as you've always been! I can say now you can shoot almost as good as me!" said Sasha with excited voice "Even though it only took few minutes..." continued with much lower voice, just mumbling to herself.

Mikasa shot couple arrows to the bull's eye until there was no place left for another arrow to join in the middle. It was fun for her but a bit painful as well. Her ribs were just fine 2 days ago but since she was pushing herself at nights, she could feel the pain growing strong again." How about a match between you and me?" Mikasa looked at Sasha, pouting for the student became master.

"why are you almost the best in everything? oh tell you what, let's call for Connie and Jean to cheer for us." Said Sasha and didn't wait for Mikasa to answer and ran to the stable. Mikasa smirked to Sasha's goofy face pulling out the arrows off the target and dragged her finger on its sharp edge. Sasha returned not just with Connie and Jean but also with Hange's troops, even those two on the turret came! They decided to begin the match with putting targets farther and when they both scored even Jean suggested to try shooting moving targets. "But there's nothing moving to shoot at. " Sasha scratched her forehead.
