Chapter 3: Cold Tea

"We have 4 days given to turn in Eren to military police and we have to find out who is controlling that female titan before that"

All the troops, Levi and Hange were gathered around the table thinking and worrying about the situation "Please think about this matter as fast as you can" Erwin said with serious expression

"Oi... what's on your mind? You already guessed something haven't you?" Levi replied with empty eyes.

"I'm not sure yet but I'm counting on you three (pointing at Eren, Armin and Mikasa) to figure this out specially you Armin" "yes sir!" Armin replied with his mind gears on race.

After Erwin left the room, it was pure silence there, Eren couldn't think of any specific person to be the female titan, actually he couldn't remember clearly what happened back there; just some punching and strikes on his body. He hadn't get knocked off after his training days like this! Suddenly he noticed Armin's struggling face and said "Hey Armin let's get out of here you look so pale!" and helped him get up after few steps turned back and when he didn't see Mikasa following behind, he wondered "Hey Mikasa! Aren't you coming?" and thought "Why isn't she coming?!"
It became a habit, like part of a ritual. If don't tag along, something bad might happen!

"You go ahead take care of Armin, I'll catch up." Eren nodded and left as other troops left one by one until the room was empty; just Mikasa and Levi with their cups left.

"Do you feel better?" Mikasa asked plainly. Levi didn't respond, so she asked again "Captain how's yo..."

"It's fine. Nothing's wrong" she got interrupted by him. "What's the deal with you and that brat?"

"Sir?" She was caught by the surprise of the sudden, irrelevant question.

"Tch, never mind" he stood up forgetting about his injured leg and stumbled, Mikasa rushed and grabbed his arm as a reflex "Captain"

"Tsk, damn it!" Levi growled in pain.

For a glimpse, their eyes met not so far from each other with Mikasa's sudden fear of him falling and Levi hating himself for getting injured and showing weakness so easily!

"I'm alright brat, let go!" Levi's harsh words came out with very soft voice. She took a step back and he smoothed his shirt and necktie. Mikasa was deeply in thought "Oi, what's on your mind now?" as he asked the very same question from Erwin and saw the same expression in her eyes. She looked at captain with blank face but a little widened eyes as he realized there's something on her mind "Nothing serious, I have to make sure before saying anything."

"Fine" he turned to leave and Mikasa rushed through the door and opened it for him "please do take care sir"

Mikasa caught him by surprise by her sudden action, he nodded and left the room.

"He didn't finish his tea..." Mikasa whispered within her scarf.
