Romaisa's pov

I ironed out the last of the wrinkles from Zackariyahs dress shirt, mama had strictly ordered me to as she was busy tending with the many guests. It's the day of the wedding. To think that everyone around me is more excited than I am is quite strange for a bride.

I guess the happiness and of course the nervousness will come later when I realize the reality of the situation. The days had passed so quickly since the engagement. I talked with Asher many times over the course and even with the annoyance of Shiza I learned more about him than he knew himself. Business class became boring after he left and graduated, since he was already ahead in the course than most people.

Our family was invited but I couldn't go due to a very high fever. As I layed in bed that day, my parents came back from the graduation and handed me an envelope. I had looked at it confused but my parents just smiled and walked back out. Curiosity getting the best of me, I removed the red rose that was taped onto the the top of the end envelope and placed it in the vase beside me.

Inside was a note from Asher, reading the first word made my heart melt.

Romaisa,
Asalam alaikum! So I know were aren't supposed to talk like that much but I couldn't help it. I hope you like the rose, I grew it in my balcony....ok that was a weird fact..sorry. Anyways, I hope you feel better better inshallah, and I'll see you on our wedding day.
P.s I picked out your dress! I hope you like it, I think you'll get it before our wedding, oh cheese I'm blushing cuz I keep saying or writing 'our wedding'. Darn it I'm writing this in pen, now I can't erase that.
Asher

I smile at the memory, hanging Zackys shirt back up, I head to my room. I was instructed to wait here until Shiza came and took me away to the room inside the hall. The one where I'll be inshallah putting my dress that I have yet to see on. My make up is already done to the finest and my face looks brand new. The wedding is going to be the same style as Shiza's cousin, Shanzay's wedding. So all the ladies have to now find scarfs to match their suits. Which is causing frantic right now....like seriously people just wear black, black goes with everything.

Sighing I lay onto my bed, the wedding will start in about two and a half hours and Shiza still isn't here yet.

I'm coming! I'm coming! Just hold on, Abbas came way too early so I had to guide him to the hall where the men are, he's with your father right now helping him or something, I dunno. BUT IM COMING HABIBTI - Shiza

I roll my eyes and text her a hurry up, everyone in the household is ready except for the bride! This day has been so confusing, right now my mother is downstairs ushering people to the hall. She's all ready look extravagant and is now helping Zacky.

Shiza had gone with me to pick out Asher's outfit and instead of going culture we decided on a very fancy suit. She had the right size and in the end we chose the most exquisite one there.
