The Phoenix

These fragments of Life

These pieces of pain

All of the Glory hidden

In the promise of your name

The fear of the darkness

And what’s buried inside

The cup that life offers

To open my eyes

God give me the strength

so I may find the way

To go the depths

of what love brings me to claim

For in the ashes and embers of the fire that burns

Is a spirit that rises in some whisper of love that was heard

And the phoenix that flies up to heavens gate

Is born from the fragments that this life did make.

And the reflections of what

 is here at the core

Is just a small part

of what we need to open loves door.

The flight of the phoenix

The glory as she rises

The soul as it flies up

to heaven so high

And all the beauty that comes from living this life

Comes with a price

When leaving it behind

And if we are human we fall to our knees

And if this cup of  life you offer us

Will bring our release

We remember the Love we worshipped in your name

And now after the fire, it’s just the ashes we scatter of your remains

what’s left after this moment when the embers  die

is the fragments of  life’s Glory

and the flight of the phoenix as she flies
