It's been a day since she heard the truth about her brother. She sat on her bed starring at the wall. The room fell silent. Nothing was moving. Nothing was making a sound. All she could hear is the sound of her own heart pounding in her chest. Eyes closed shut she tried not to let the tears fall out. Her brother was murdered. Dead. No longer alive.

She slipped out of the bed and walked towards her window. She opened it , to feel the slight breeze in the night air. Minutes of peaceful silenced passed as she tried to forget everything she was told yesterday. Voices down the street snapped her back to reality.

"You're a nobody! And I should of killed you when you where born!" A voice slurred.

"Dad! Stop please just go inside." Another voice said. She looked around trying to locate the sound when her gaze stopped on the little blue house down the street. Squinting she realized one of the voices was from Max.

"No! Shut your mouth and leave my house!" The older man snarled. Max paused for a minute and then began to walk away. She didn't know why she did it but jshe closed her window grabbed her shoes and quietly made he way down the street in tow.

She didn't know how long she walked but when he stopped by the park , confusion flooded her mind. Does he know I'm following him? She thought. When she finally thought he was gonna stop, he kept walking into the park and to the bridge by the water. She froze and and her stomachs filled with dread. She hoped in her heart she was wrong about what he was about to do.

He hopped on to the ledge stood up and glanced down. From where she was she could see the look of contemplation on his face.

"Please don't do that." She said loud enough for him to hear her.

"What do you care? You're just like everyone else. Nobody cares." Angrily he turned back to face the ledge.

"If I took the time and put my self in a position where I could of been hurt, just to help you from some idiots. Then I guess I care just a little bit don't you think." She said.

"You did it to benefit yourself."

"If that's what you think. Aren't you just a bit curious to see how your life might play out if you decide to live it? Make something of yourself despite your fathers words." She asked him.

"I wasn't going to jump you know." He said as he sat down on the ledge. He looked out into the night.

"It looked like you were." She said and walked to stand beside him.

"What you see isn't always what it is." Max said.

"Well you sure he'll almost gave me a heart attack!" She said and gave him a smack on the shoulder. "Can you step away from here it's not very settling, thinking you were about to jump." She said hesitantly. He stood up and jumped off the ledge onto the ground and sat on the nearby bench.

"Happy?" He asked.

"Not quite but were getting there."

"How did you know were I was?" Max asked.

"I heard your dad yelling. Then I followed you here."

"That's a bit stalkerish don't you think."

"I think it's called caring, thank you very much."

"Well thank you for caring. And I'm sorry for what I said."

"It's all good. No harm done. But how about you stay with me for awhile." She asked.
