Chapter Twelve: Chasing Hearts

It was Christmas and it's time for another Christmas party. Our second semester was over and even the exams which I hope I passed. So the Christmas party was held on a Friday and it will be our second to the last party before leaving Charlton. We had fun, ate food and gave presents. Sarah gave me a shirt which was really cool. It was a Star Trek tee. I also planned on giving her too so I got her a Harry Potter tee. After Sarah and I decided to go a theatre nearby. We decided to watch a movie. It was some sort of a throwback since Skye and I also watched a movie together before. But this time it wasn't that all awkward. I was waiting for Sarah to lie her head onto my shoulders and she did!

"Hey, Sarah. You wanna go home?"

"Yeah. Oh wait. I can't my parents aren't home yet and I don't have the keys to the house."

"That's fine. You can stay at my house for the awhile."

So I invited her to go to my house and yes, she did go to my house. Nobody's home too but I have the keys. I finally showed her my room. It's her first time to go there.

"Awesome room, Arthur."

"I invited you to my place, care to invite me to yours?"

"Some other time. Haha"

"So, what do you wanna do."

"Nothing actually. I just wanna rest."

"Sure, sure. You can lie down."

"Thanks.." So Sarah is on my bed. I had nothing to do but to just watch her sleep. Sounds creepy, right. But I felt tired too so I also lied down." She noticed me and we were not really far from each other. I was somewhat at the edge and she was too. I don't want any awkwardness to happen.

"Hey, Sarah. Just wanna ask if uhmm...since we're friends.."

"Yes?"

"If we could have a friendly kiss."

"Friendly kiss? Is there such thing?"

"If you don't want I'm fine with that."

"To be honest, I think I can don't mind having a friendly kiss."

We kissed. Yeah. For the second time. Score!!!! But this time it was different. It wasn't awkward. I was really surprised that Sarah said yes. I was just actually kidding. But yeah...merry Christmas to me. :)
She eventually left my house since her parents are already home. Before leaving she thanked me for me letting her stay at my place for awhile. I also wished it was Skye. Yeah, Skye. She's still The One inside my heart. I also love Sarah but is it really true love?

So it was January 2015. The new year. For the year there things that I want to change and I just wish that will happen. It was January and our grades for the second semester will be revealed. I was 12th overall. I ranked down from 9th last semester. I felt really confident and maybe it led me to being 12th. Sarah was still the first overall. I beat Skye! She was 14th. I felt smarter. Haha. It's just that I can finally show her that I don't rely on people and that I'm willing to study harder. That'll be a major turn on.

It was February again. I gave Skye a letter since it was her birthday a week ago. I took this chance since Dylan was out of school and competed in a chess competition in New York.

Dear Skye,

Happy Valentine's day and also belated happy birthday! Thanks for being a good friend. You were there when I needed you. Ever since I was new here, you were there to be my friend.

She read the letter and I think she felt touched.

"Awwww. Thanks, Arthur. I didn't know you'll give me something like this."

"Hehe. Well...I just did. You wanna eat lunch?"

"Sure. With you?"

"Yeah. Maybe, outside school?"

"Aren't you going out with Sarah?"

"Not today. She's also part of the chess competition with Dylan."

"Oh. So, where do you wanna eat?"

"How about at a local Japanese restaurant."

"The one near the mall? Sure!"

Skye and I ate lunch at this Japanese restaurant near the mall. We took the time to talk to each other again.

"It's been a long time since we will talk to each other."

"I know right, Arthur. So, how are you?"

"I'm fine. Not really having problems with the studies. Thanks for helping me by the way."

"No big deal. You did awesome! Beating me in the rankings, that's awesome!"

"You're not mad?"

"Not really. I just felt inspired. Haha. Just believe, right?"

"Haha BELIEVE!!!!"

"So. You and Sarah, huh?"

"No...."

"Oh really??"

"I'm just attracted to her. She's cute, smart, funny...."

"I'm cute, smart and funny too! Haha joke!"

"Haha."

"So what are you going to give to her. This......July, right?"

"I'm thinking....I'm gonna give her a dress or something."

"A dress! Nice! So you and Sarah aren't yet together, right?"

"Not yet. Not yet telling her that I wanna be her boyfriend."

"Wow. You gotta tell her, dude."

"I know Skye but I'm finding a perfect time."

I still love Skye. My heart says it. But I also love Sarah. My mind says it. I'm trying to move on with Skye but there's this rope that's stuck and glued to something and that it can't let go.......
