It's another year and now, I'm a ninth grader. Evan and Tyler are out of my way and Skye is all mine. Skye is party of my class!! Finally. I was super happy but I still can't talk to her and it's still awkward for me. Lol. I also lost alot of weight this summer. I played alot more basketball even though I'm not sporty like the guys, stopped eating alot and I just exercised.
It took a week before I could really talk to Skye.
"Hey, Skye. You miss Evan?""Hey, what's up! Kinda but I'm not gonna be super dramatic about it."
"Haha. So, you wanna hang out or something? We can eat lunch together."
"Thanks alot, Arthur. You just made my day."
I was really happy our friendship is now on the right track. We hung out again and we even watched a movie together.
"You wanna watch a movie? There's this new zombie movie in theaters."
"Not really a fan of zombies, Arthur."
"How about......this new romantic movie?"
"OMG!! The Beneath the Stars movie!! Oh, I loved that book!"
"So, let's watch this then?"
"Yes.. Please!!"
We had a fun time watching the movie. But the moment that I can never forget was when she laid her head onto ky shoulders. It was really romantic for me.
"Thanks for the movie, Arthur."
"No problem."
Everything was perfect but this happened.
"Hey, Arthur. He's so cute and so smart. I'm starting to like him."
"Who?"
"Dylan Courtney. The smart guy."
"Really? Haha. You two are perfect for each other."
"Awww. Thanks, Arthur."
"Haha, oh I almost forgot. I'm having hard time in this math problem, can you help me?"
"Sure. I can go to your house if you want."
She went to my house to tutor me. I felt really bad that I'm dumb and she's smart. It's a turn off for her. Dylan's smart, charming, confident and based on what Skye said, those are the qualities she wants.
It took about two months and they're now together. Dylan and Skye. I'm just waiting when will they ever kiss and that'll be the third one. So, I'm fourth then? They hung out all the time, every recess and even after school. Eating together at the burger place near our school and it's not that I have a problem with that but it just makes me sad. Why couldn't it be me?We had a project in our Literature class and we are going to act the story that all of us wrote which is entitled, The King Beloved. They had to chose the cast for the play and they chose me as Prince Trevor and they chose Lauren Mulvey as Princess Joanna. Lauren Mulvey is also smart and beautiful. But I just wished Skye was Joanna. Since Lauren and I were the two main actors, we had to practice our lines three times a week after class for about an hour. I really don't know but I'm starting to be attracted to Lauren ever since we had to talk together for practice. Skye's still my crush but he's with Dylan now. I eventually told what I was feeling to the guys.
"Hey, Michael, Chris, Dustin. I think I'm in love with Lauren."
"Lauren?!??!"
"Why not, Michael? She's also smart and cute like Skye."
"But Skye's more beautiful."
"Shut up, Chris. You know I have no chance with her. Besides, Lauren is simple and nice."
"Good luck with that, Arthur. If she finds out that you like her and that you just like her because you have no chances with Skye."
"True, but she's not my rebound, Dustin! Whatever, guys."
The play was held at our auditorium and most of the audience were the students at Charlton. We were all nervous. Lauren was the most nervous since her CRUSH, Daniel Anderson from the ninth grade is sitting in the front row. So I have no chance with Skye and now Lauren too. Dammit!!!!
The play ended nicely and we all did great. Daniel Anderson went out with his girlfriend, Stacy Danvers who's also from the ninth grade. Lauren knew that he has a girlfriend. So before leaving the play, I told her that I like her."Hey, Lauren. Ever since we spent most of the time together practicing for this, I felt this emotion inside of me. Your hair, your beautiful eyes, it attracted me. I'm starting to like you, Lauren."
"Ewww."
"What??!"
"Ew. Don't be so dramatic, it doesn't fit you. I'm sorry, Arthur but I don't like you. I like somebody else."
FRIENDZONE #2!
"Well, okay. Can we still be friends?"
"Sure." The guys were all laughing at the back.
"Friendzone, dude!!! (Laughing) First, Skye and now, Lauren! (Laughing)"
"Shut, up you guys. Why can't I ever have a girl in my life?"
Yeah. This was the things I remembered in my ninth grade. I thought it was all sad and despair. There were things that were also memorable for me and I thought that it would not happen to me.
