Forever Us

Chapter Eight

As I enter into the house my heels click on the hard wood floor. I look around at the house that once held my worst nightmare.

"This way dear." Alexis gestures me to the living room. I follow her into the living room and she smiles as we both sit on the couch across from each other. "What are you doing here darling?" Alexis asks me.

"I wanted to see if you heard from Connor recently." I tell her.

"Um, not recently. Last time I heard from him he was in New York. But you know that. Probably why your back here." Alexis mumbles.

"Yeah. He tried to contact me a few times in the past few days Alexis. He left a note on my boyfriends car that said Forever Mine." I tell her.

"Like I just told you Sara. I haven't heard from him since he said he was heading to New York. Let me call Dan and ask him. He might have talked to him." She says as she stands and leaves me alone in the living room. I wait for her to come back when I hear something coming from upstairs. I stand and walk over to the stairs that are behind me. Standing at the bottom I hear the song "Blue on Black by Five Finger Death Punch" coming from up the stairs.

I am suddenly 15 again and walking up the white stairs. I get to the top of the stairs and turn to the left following the music coming from the bedroom. I walk over and push open the door to see Connor laying on a bench with weights above him.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Connor snaps at me.

"I came to apologize. I didn't mean to make you upset this morning." I tell him.

"Your a fucking bitch. Why are you here? To apologize?" He laughs "Well too fucking late you are the reason why I'm so fucking mad. Why do I even put up with your shit? Your bitch ass face is annoying the fuck out of me." Connor screams at me. I start to cry as I run down the stairs and towards the front door. "Sara where are you going?!" He yells after me as he runs after me. As I get outside I can feel him on my heels.

"I'm leaving." I yell out and before I can walk further away from him he grabs my arm and pulls me back to him. I let out a scream.

"No! Why the fuck are you here?" Connor screams at me.

"I wanted to spend time with you!" I yell at him.

"No you just wanted to piss me off!" He screams in my face.

"Connor your hurting me! Ouch! " I scream at him as his hand slaps me across my face. I fall onto the curb hitting my head off the pavement and my knee falls straight into the gravel. I scream and cry at the same time but I don't move from the spot I landed. I'm frozen.

"My father will be home soon. Get out. I don't want him seeing you" Connor tells me calmly.

"Fine!" I yell at him as he turns to walk away. I stand up getting all the courage I can have " If that's how you feel about me we are done. Don't call me. Don't text me. Don't fucking come near me!" I scream at him as I walk away limping with every step I take.

I am pulled out of my day dream hearing Alexis on the phone talking to someone.

"She's here. No i told you I'd call if she'd show up. Just get here soon." She whispers. I walk closer to the kitchen door listening into her conversation. "No Connor, there's no time if you don't get here soon she's going to leave. This is the easiest place to get her." She says. My heart stops I can't breath. I start backing up towards the living room again when I knock over a lap on the table beside the couch. "I've got to go." She quickly hangs up and rushes back into the living room.
