Chapter Twenty

After we are all done with the photographs, we are all brought into the main hall waiting for the DJ to announce us into the reception. Hadin still hasn't spoke to me after our encounter in the bathroom. I stand in the corner looking at my phone trying not to search for Hadin. I feel something warm on the back on my neck. I turn to see Hadin standing there.

"Hey." He whispers.

"Hi." I whisper back.

"listen about what happened." Hadin starts.

"Hadin. Don't." I beg him.

"I don't want you to think I'm an animal." Hadin whispers.

"I don't." I tell him. "About what I said in the bar. I'm sorry I snapped at you." I tell him.

"No I deserve it. I've been feeling sorry for myself and not thinking about how you've been feeling or taking what happened between us." Hadin admits to me.

"I shouldn't have snapped though so for that I am truly sorry." I tell him. "But when you think you know what I'm going to do with my life especially my romantic life that really does make me mad. I have no idea what is going to happen now." I tell him.

"So you don't have any feelings for Raymond?" He asks me.

"I didn't say that I will always love Raymond. Just like I will always love you. Just don't assume that I will run back to him. Please." I ask him.

"Okay. I'm sorry." Hadin apologizes.

"Everyone ready?" The DJ's assistant asks us all. "Already cue the music. DJ do your thing." The assistant says in her earpiece.

"Please everyone give it up for the wedding party!" The DJ announces. "Flower girl Lauren Cullen and Ring Barrier Jordan Mitchel," Everyone claps as they walk out of the room. "Brides Maid and Groomsmen Katherine Marks and Dean Anthony" As Katherine and Dean exit Hadin grabs my hand and kisses my hand. "Bride maid Marley Jacobs and Groomsmen Ian Jones" The DJ announces. We hear clapping as they walk out of the room. "Bridesmaid Nina Marshal and Groomsmen Christian Lucas." Nina and Christian exit the room I look at Lilly as she smiles at me pointing at the groomsmen on her arm. I shake my head. "Bridesmaid and sister Lilly Robertson and Groomsmen Justin Lynch" The DJ announces. I look back at Ashlynn and Jace kissing in back of Hadin and I. I can't help but smile. One day I want to be as happy as they are. "Maid of Honor Sara Matthews and Best man and Brother Hadin James!" The DJ announces. Hadin takes my hand in his as he leads me out into the crowd. As we walk out everyone is clapping at us. The photographer motions for us to stop to take a photo. Hadin pulls me into his arms as the photo is taken. We are then pulled apart to stand on opposite sides of the dance floor. The music changes to "Bruno Mars Marry you" "And now the moment we've all been waiting for. Please help me welcome Mr. and Mrs. Jace James!" Everyone starts clapping and screaming as Jace and Ashlynn enter the room. "And now the bride and groom will dance to the first song as husband and wife." Ashlynn and Jace walk into the large space between all of us and stand there when the music starts. "What's Mine is Yours by Kane Brown" I watch as Jace and Ashlynn dance around to the music. I look across the room at Hadin who is looking right at me. I look down and take a breath. I watch as the spin around the room like no one else is in the room but the two of them. As the song ends everyone claps. Jace and Ashlynn walk over to the small white table in the front of the yard. Hadin walks over to me and takes my hand as we walk over to the DJ. The DJ hands us microphones. "And now we are going to have the Maid of Honor Best Man Speeches. Please welcome Maid of Honor Sara Matthews!"

Everyone claps as I enter to the middle of the room. I take a breath looking at everyone staring at me. I smile and wave at everyone.

"Thank you. First off. I want to congratulate my best friend and her new husband. You guys are amazing together. I love you. I first met Ashlynn when I moved to Farmington for the last semester of college. She was looking for a roommate and I didn't want to live in a dorm room. The first moment I met her she was this force of energy that hit me literally in the face." Everyone laughs. "She has been a godsend for me my absolute best friend. When I saw her and Jace together for the first time I was blown away, they love each other so much and so intensely that it is a true testament for anyone saying that if you try hard enough you can make it work. I've had the pleasure of getting to know the entire James family and Ashlynn and her sister Lilly these past few months. I know that without them I wouldn't be where I am now. Ashlynn I love you. Jace if you hurt her I will hurt you." Everyone laughs. "I love you guys!' I finish my speech and walk off the floor handing Hadin the microphone. I stand by the DJ station looking at him. "Kill it." I smile.
