Sariya.
Sariya followed behind Maria as they entered the house and immediately locked eyes with Andrew. He had a small smile on his face and she felt her heart beat increase as his eyes stalked over hers, making her feel like they were the only two in the room. She had no clue as to why she felt this way, especially about a man she didn't know. All she could say is that he was a great conversationalist, and that would be true because he actually could keep up with her. How he ended up in her childhood home is the real question. Was this really fate? Or did he know who she was the second he walked into the bar? She was trying so hard to believe it was the ladder. She realized she had been staring at him entirely too long and looked away before anyone caught her. Her sister was giving a speech she needed to tune into.
"You know I just wanna thank everyone for coming and celebrating me and my handsome soon to be husband Khalil. I know some of you have been here before but I can promise you that no other man in this world has made me as happy as Khalil has. He's truly my soulmate and my other half, without him there's just no need to breathe and it's beautiful because it's mutual." She said tearing up as she turned to him, and everyone cooed as he embraced her.
"Aww." Sariya smiled, touching her heart. It was beautiful seeing her sister seem genuinely happy, and seeming as a year ago she almost gave up on love says a lot. Khalil was truly her knight and shining armor.
Khalil chuckled and took the mic, wrapping his arm around his emotional Fiancé. "She's good at making herself cry, but I told her I wasn't gonna dare let her do it in front of all of you." He joked and everyone laughed.
"But adding on to what she said we really do appreciate it. I can't wait to make her my wife and I promise you I'm gonna say that until we get married Tuesday."
Everyone cheered and Sariya giggled at her sisters dramatics. She really found a good man in Khalil, and she hoped it would stay that way.
"You know this wedding brunch should be for you and your husband, but you always come back home empty handed." Her mother sighed as she walked next to her. "My youngest daughter, you are almost 30 and have never been in a relationship for more than an year. Your always angry at me but how can you blame me? I just want to see you as happy as your sister."
Sariya's smile dropped as she turned to her mother. "Are you serious right now? Your first conversation with me is about my love life? Especially right now? Your sick mom and you need help. So I'm sorry if I'm a disappointment to you, but I'd rather be alone then force myself into a relationship."
Hilary rolled her eyes and laughed. "You and these insults are getting old. Seriously. That's why I'll never see how you claim to be so grown, your still a little girl mentally. Instead of having a woman to woman conversation you try to hurt me. I don't care how you feel about me, I still carried you for 9 months and you will respect me. You wouldn't be shit if I didn't have a say so in your life and you know it. Now I love you, I do. But I don't like this attitude and fake persona you put up for the world to see like I'm the bad guy. Hell even your father is falling victim, but you and I both know the real reason why you left Houston."
Sariya felt her blood boiling as she stared at her mother, stepping closer to her. "Mom I don't wanna do this in front of all these people, so please leave me alone. I swear to you I don't wanna show my ass but I will. So stop."
Before Hilary could open her mouth again Jordyn stepped between the two of them. "Okay hey guys calm down, I'm sensing very hostile vibes right now and I beg the both of you to contain yourselves. Now is not the time." She whispered to them, turning to give Sariya a look specifically.
"Get your mother Jordyn, because I promise you I'm gonna lose my shit. She's trying me."
Hilary scoffed. "Oh please stop with that, no ones afraid of you. Your just scared I'm gonna expose the truth Sariya! I am your mother so you will learn to respect me."
