Katie was excited for the trip. She didn't have to sit through long hours in the classroom. Emmett told her that he wasn't going to be there due to him and Rosalie being seniors, but Rosalie said she would go till Edward told her she could stay home and have a stress free day since Emmett wanted to go hunting. Edward told his mate and best friend that he wanted to spend time with his cousin Katie Masen.
Katie arrived at school and parked her car when Bella walked over to Katie. Edward, Jasper, and Alice watched cautiously. "Katie." Bella called out. Katie turned and looked at Bella cautiously. She didn't trust Bella one bit.
"Bella." She said back. Katie watched as Bella took a deep breath in and started talking.
"I wanted to say sorry for the way I have been treating you. I don't have claims on none of the Cullens and you were right. Can we try to be friends?" Bella asked hoping that her plan will work.
"I guess." Katie said unaware of this 'friendship'. Bella smiled knowing that her plan work. Katie knew that something was up and that she will have to watch what she says to Bella. ~~~ Edward saw Katie looking at a beautiful flower as he walked up to her. "Katie!" Edward called out. Katie turned and smiled at him.
"Hey!" She said.
"What did Bella want?" He asked worried for her. Katie sighed not getting a good feeling from the whole friendship idea.
"She 'apologized' and said she wants to be friends. To me," Katie stopped as she whispered this last part to him. "I think its a load of BS."
"I believe you." Edward said. Katie and Edward with Jasper and Alice behind them talked about all sorts of things even down to family. "What was your great great grandmother's name?"
"Mary Masen. I don't know what her maiden name was, but she did marry John Masen." Katie said as she smiled. "My father says I look just like his great aunt Elizabeth. That's how I got the middle name Elizabeth." If Edward could cry, he would. He had a family member. Something he never thought he would have. Bella noticed that in a way Katie and Edward looked a like. She knew she would have to some more research on Katie Masen. ~~~ The next day, Katie was getting her a salad so she can take her seat with the Cullens when her friend Jessica came up to her. "Hey." She said.
"Hey Jessica." Katie said smiling.
"Do you want to hang out with us at La Push." She asked. Katie nodded as she walked over to the Cullens. Emmett was upset that his mate will be on the other side of the treaty, somewhere he can't be.
"What was that about?" Rosalie asked.
"They invited me to La Push. Do you guys want to go?" Katie asked.
"We can't." Alice said upset that her best friend was going there.
"We were planning on a camping trip." Jasper said. Katie nodded at them as she continued to eat. Emmett had his arm around her. He was worried that Bella had something planned. ~~~ "Bella." Jacob called out. Katie was in a deep conversation with Angela about prom when he walked over to Bella.
"What are you doing here? Are you stalking me?" Bella joked as Jacob laughed.
"Your on my turf." He said. Katie just blocked out their conversation knowing what was going on. Jacob liked Bella, but Bella didn't.
Katie was walking with Jacob and Bella listening to them talk. "What did he mean the Cullens don't come here?" Katie asked. Bella smirked at the blonde already knowing the answer, but wanted Katie to find out.
"Well along time ago..." Jacob started telling the story about the treaty, the cold ones, etc,. Katie was shock to hear this and knew she needed to do some research as Bella smirked even more at how Katie caught on to what the Cullens where. If she couldn't have them than she'll have to wait for Katie to turn so she can turn her. ~~~ When Katie got home, she admittedly went to her computer and started researching about the Quileute legends and discovered the unthinkable. A video of a man drinking blood from a woman. She imagined it to be Emmett and was shocked with the image. Katie turned her computer off after she wrote down a bookstores address.
Katie went to bed with Emmett on her mind and what Jacob said.
