Birthday Gone Wrong

Katie woke up with a smile on her face. She knew what today was and was excited. She walked down just to be surprised by Emmett and her parents. "Happy birthday Katie."

"Thanks guys." She hugged her parents and kissed Emmett before opening her gifts. Emmett told her that her gift is at his house and she couldn't wait to see it.

Katie and Emmett were laughing when Alice walked over to them. "Happy birthday." Katie took the present and smile. She saw a beautiful red dress inside and hugged Alice.

"It's beautiful Alice. Thank you!" Katie squealed with excitement that Jasper had to use his gift to calm her down. She felt the sudden change and smiled. "Sorry Jazz."

"It's fine Katie." He replied. Emmett kissed Katie before he had to leave school premises.

"I'll see you later."

Edward had told Katie that he wasn't giving her her gift till later. They went through school with Bella acting like her and Katie are best friends. Katie didn't want the girl around. She started getting a bad feeling that Bella was going to follow them to celebrate their birthday together.

"I wish she didn't follow us." Katie said as they had left school.

"She knows that we were throwing a party for you since you are Emmett's mate." Edward answered. Katie nodded and looked ahead. When they arrived at the Cullen house, Emmett was standing outside waiting for his mate. Once the car stopped, Katie ran to Emmett hugging him. The smell of Bella made them all glare except for Alice and Esme.

"Let's go in." Katie nodded as they walked in.

Katie changed and walked downstairs with her camera to give to alive to take pictures. Emmett smiled as his mate reached the bottom. "You look beautiful baby."

"You look great Katie." Edward said hugging his cousin. Bella came down and no one didn't say anything. Which made her mad.

"Let's open the gifts." Esme said as she got Katie's gifts and the little bit they were forced to by when learning Bella was going to follow them. Katie was first. She got a beautiful necklace from Rosalie, new outfits and shoes from Alice, music sheets from Edward, sketchbook from Jasper, and last one but not least Emmett.

"Katie Elizabeth Masen, I know we have just started dating, but when I was turned I've heard so much about mates and knew that I couldn't wait to meet mine." He paused as Katie had tears building up and Bella fuming in anger. "When Alice said you was coming, I thought she lied till the next day. I fell in love with you and knew you were my mate. I love you Katie and as the days go by my love for you grows deeper." Emmett got down on one knee in front of Katie making her gasp. "Will you marry me, Katie and be my mate forever."

"Yes!" She said as she kissed him. "Always and forever."

"Congrats Katie." Esme said as she handed her another gift. "It's from me and Carlisle."

"Welcome to the family Katie." Carlisle said as she opened the box to see the Cullen crest on a ring,

"I don't know what to say." Katie said as she put the ring on her right hand and hugged Esme and Carlisle.

Bella opened her gifts up to she was given an envelope with a airplane ticket in it. Just one which made Bella angry knowing she can't bring Emmett or Edward  with her. As she tried to open it, Bella cut her finger.

Katie was sitting beside Rosalie as Jasper tried to attack Bella. Bella was happy that she might get to be one, but got angry when Jasper got held back. Carlisle took Bella upstairs as Emmett walked over and held Katie close. "She planned that."
