Monastery of Spinjitzu.  3rd Person P.O.V

"That's not fair!"

"It is to."

"How so?!"

"You were the one who caused a power outage in Ninjago City's Southern Side.  That outage took 2 days for the electrical companies to fix.  We promised them that you would be punished for your lack of control and for you not listening to a direct order.  You sitting out on missions for the next month while performing extra training and doing extra work around the Monastery seems to me to be a fair punishment."

"But what if you guys need me?  No one can take my place."

"That's why we asked Skylar to fill in when necessary.  Since she has her powers back, she has been itching to use them.  She absorbed your power during the victory celebration after the defeat of the Sons of Garmadon and she is excited to try them out while filling in for you for the next month."

"But, Lloyd--"

"No buts, Jay.  This is what the people were willing to accept for your punishment.  They originally wanted you to do Community Service for the next year, but I convinced them that you were clearly slacking off with your training and should do more of it and missing out on assignments would be a sufficient punishment."

"Then where did the extra chores come in?"

"That was Sensei's punishment for you breaking his teapot, on purpose, during training while he was pouring himself tea."

Jay groaned.  Some days, he really wished he hadn't agreed to be a Ninja.  This was one of those days.

He hadn't meant to cause the outage; it was just that he hadn't anticipated the crook to dodge the strike so quickly.  It hadn't help that the crook had been in front of Ninjago City's major electrical company.  Lloyd had managed to come up with a punishment for Jay that the people were willing to accept, but he wasn't happy about it.  And the teapot had been an accident too, but he wasn't going to argue that.  Lloyd would just ignore his argument or add another punishment.

"The others and I are going to Ninjago City to help the Elemental Masters and other citizens rebuild the city after Emporer Garmadon's rage fits destroyed it.  We expect the Monastery to be clean by the time we get back.  Also, before I forget, no using your powers to clean and no video games," Lloyd finished, glaring at Jay.  Jay opened his mouth to protest, but quickly thought better of it.

He'd only make it worse.

Lloyd, Zane, Nya, Kai, Pixal, and Sensei Wu exited the Monastery and started heading down the mountain to the city.  After a few steps, Lloyd turned around and called back:

"Oh, by the way, Cole will be staying to make sure you don't do anything you're not supposed to be doing!" Then he turned back around and ran down the stairs to catch up to the rest.

Jay sighed and slammed the door shut.  After taking a couple seconds to cool down, he sulked back into the Monastery towards the room where the cleaning supplies were kept.  He figured he might as well get the cleaning done and over with; that way, he could practice his powers in the Training Courtyard, pretending the straw dummies were Lloyd.
