Ninjago City. 3rd Person P.O.V:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a quiet, sunny day in Ninjago City. The birds were singing, the gardens and plants were in full bloom, and everyone was happy and relaxed.
Cyrus was no exception.
After his imprisonment to the Time Twins and being forced to make something he didn't want, all he wanted was to take a break and not worry. It was impressive to him that his fellow inmates, Ray and Maya, had gone home and had just picked up where they left off. The reason Ray had told Cyrus for that had been, "It's best not to dwell on the past. It would drive any person insane." But for Cyrus, it wasn't that simple.
He spent his days relaxing near the Titanium Ninja Statute, enjoying the summer sun, and the smell of fresh plant life. For him, perhaps, taking time to recuperate was the best course of action to recover from his ordeal.
It was just another day, several weeks after the Time Twins were lost, when the Temporal Vortex opened again, above the Statute. Cyrus could only watch in awe and horror as something, no, someone, fell out of the Vortex and crashed into the grass.
Cyrus stared at the figure for a few moments, before slowly pushing his wheelchair over to the person. Upon closer inspection, Cyrus was relieved to notice the man, Acronix by the looks of it, was unconscious, but relatively unhurt.
He quickly looked around. Surprisingly, no one else was around. Everyone probably fled when the Vortex opened. He looked back at Acronix and was about to leave, when he felt his heart clench. He turned back and realized he felt bad for the Twin. He didn't know why, but he did. But at the same time, this was the man who had imprisoned innocent people and made them work till their hands bled for his own evil scheme. Cyrus debated for a few moments before he pulled out his phone and made a call.
"Hey, Ronin, remember that favor you owe me? Well, I'm calling it in."
The first thing Acronix was aware of, was that he was in a very, very comfortable place. It was soft, and fluffy, and so warm.
That was when he realized that something was wrong.
He jolted up from where he was, only to instantly regret it when the room tilted severly and his head stabbed with pain. He flopped back onto the thing he was on, a bed by the feel of it, and sighed.
"It's good to see you awake. Would you like something to drink?" a timid voice asked, off to his right. Acronix considered for a moment, was about to say 'no', when he was rudely alerted to how parched his throat was. So he swallowed his pride and nodded a 'yes'.
He heard a creaking noise fade away as the stranger left. He took the time to view his surroundings. He was right; he was in a bed. It was set in the upper right corner of a square room, with a railing at waist-height wrapping around the room. The room itself was bare, except for the bed and a dresser in the left corner parallel to the bed and a few photos. The door was in the center of the left wall.
The walls were a blank grey with framed photos lining the walls. Acronix didn't spend much time looking at them. One was at an award ceremony, another at a product reveal, yet another with a group of people wearing different uniforms, ectara. The last photo was what caught his attention, the one with the people, and he carefully sat up on the bed. His head still hurt, but not as bad, and he slowly pulled off the covers and swung his legs over the edge. Making sure his legs wouldn't give out, he stood up and stiffly made his way to the photo. His mysterious rescuer hadn't returned, so he pulled the picture off the wall to examine it.
