Not a request.  But I really wanted to write a Blackscreen one-shot.

I got this idea in the middle of the night.

Blackscreen = Lloyd, Master of Energy X Shade, Master of Shadow.

Takes place in the beginning of Season 9.  3rd Person. P.O.V.

Lloyd couldn't sleep.

Ever since the Elemental Masters rescued him, Nya, Dareth, Misako, and Pixal, he has helped for the rest of the day organizing and cleaning up the Garbage Depot.  They only cleaned the inside though; they didn't want to attract any unwanted attention.

He thought that after a long day of almost being captured and cleaning, he'd be so tired he just fell asleep tonight.  Even though physically he was exhausted, his mind just wouldn't shut off.  His thoughts kept drifting to the battle ahead, what was expected of him, what has already happened, what his team could be going through right now, if they were safe...

Sighing, he got up.  He had made his bed on the far side of the Depot, underneath the metal walkway that led to the upper room, where Mystake slept.  The other Masters were scattered across the Depot floor, near the edges so the shadows helped hide them from any prying eyes.

Lloyd walked across the floor.  He was distracted enough where he accidently tripped over another Master.

"Kaiなぜあなたはそんなに熱くて信じられないほどでなければならないのですか?" Neuro mumbled in his sleep, turning onto his side. (A/N: I used Google Translate.  Sue me.  I'll put the ranslation at the end of the one-shot.)

Slightly confused at Neuro's sleep ramble and only making out Kai's name, Lloyd just assumed Neuro was speaking in his native language and continued walking across the Depot to the door.

He slipped outside into the cool night air.  He could faintly hear the Colossus rampaging to the south of the Depot and many car alarms going off.  He climbed up onto the roof of the Depot, both so he could better see the city and so if anyone passes the Depot they don't immediately spot him.

Sitting down, he pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them.  Despite the destruction the city was going through, it was still beautiful at night.  It was so easy to forgot what had befallen the city and just how many people might have died so far.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" a rough voice asked from behind him.  Lloyd jumped up, whipped around towards the voice, and got into a fighting stance.  He relaxed once he recognized the face of the speaker.

"Shade.  It's just you," he sighed, straitening up.  Lloyd turned back to the city, not exactly sure how he was supposed interact with the Shadow Master.

To his mild surprise, Shade moved to stand next to him.  Lloyd opted to remain quiet, watching the city lights.

"Are you doing okay?" Shade softly asked Lloyd.  Lloyd swallowed.

"Yeah, I'm fine," he replied.

"I call bullshit," the Shadow Master shot back, making Lloyd jump.

"What do you mean?  I told you I was fine," Lloyd snapped.

Shade rolled his eyes.  "If by 'fine' you mean 'I got my heart played and broken by some girl, my father is evil and is trying to kill me, and I watched my friends get crushed by the Colossus' then yeah, you're fine, just peachy, right?"

Lloyd broke down crying.  He blamed his breakdown on Shade reminding him of what he's been through.

Sobbing, he crumbled back down onto his knees.  He felt pathetic, breaking down in front of the stoic Master of Shadow, and he did his best to try to stop crying, certain Shade was about to chew him out for showing weakness.

To his absolute surprise, he sensed Shade sitting down next to him.  To add on to his earlier surprise, he felt Shade pull him into a hug and gently began to rub Lloyd's back in a comforting manner.

Lloyd returned the hug, resting his face on Shade's shoulder as he cried.  Shade kept rubbing Lloyd's back, murmuring "you're okay, just let it out."

After what felt like hours, Lloyd's sobs slowly stopped.  Wiping his eyes, he pulled away from Shade.

"Feeling better?" Shade gently asked Lloyd.  Lloyd could only nod.

Shade gave him a small smile.  "You know, you don't have to be strong all the time.  After everything you've been through, I was surprised you haven't taken the time to grieve.  If you kept going they way you were, you would of broken down at the worst possible time."

"It's just that, everyone is depending on me and I don't want to let anyone down by taking time to myself," Lloyd murmured.

Shade pulled Lloyd into another hug.  "You'll be no good to anyone if you keep stretching yourself so thin."

Lloyd buried his face in Shade's chest.  "Thank you," he mumbled.

"For what?"

"For being there."

They stayed that way until the horizon began to lighten.  Lloyd pulled out of the hug and stood up, dusting himself off.

"We should, um, get inside.  We have a lot of stuff to do an-" Lloyd began to say, only to cut himself off with a yawn.  Shade chuckled.

"I think you will be spending some of the day resting," Shade grinned, guiding Lloyd down from the roof and inside.

"I don't think anyone will let me," Lloyd mumbled, stumbling along.

"If they try, I'll tell them off.  You were up all night, you need to sleep," Shade replied.

Thankfully, everyone else was still asleep.  Shade helped get Lloyd settled back into his makeshift bed.  Lloyd tried to protest again, but his eyes were already closing.

"Sleep well, Lloyd.  I'll make sure no one bugs you," he dimly heard Shade say before sleep claimed him.

Done!  I hope you guys enjoyed.

For those wondering what Neuro said, it was: "Kai why do you have to be so hot and incredible?" (It was Japanese, by the way.)

Thinkfast Part 2 will be next, followed by ADHDshipping.  Unless I get a request.
