Chess Pieces #2: Hunter Sanford

Chapter 14

The girl, Jane was awfully quiet as she leads  me towards my room on the second floor of the beach house. My eyes wandered around the house and I never see any single portrait on the way to my room.

Maybe because this is just a beach house? Sa bahay kaya nila Hunter? Is there a picture? Thinking of seeing the picture of a young Hunter excites me.

Jane stops in front of the third door and looked at me. So I guess that this will be my room?

"Nasa loob na po ang mga gamit nyo." Jane said with a little and soft voice. It's a good thing na tahimik sa loob ng bahay kung hindi ay hindi ko sya maririnig. I wonder if she's really a shy person? Pero nang isinigaw nya naman ang "Sir Chase" kanina, it's loud and clear naman. She looks excited pa nga.

"Thank you." I said and smiled at her. Tumingin na ako sa door but Jane remained standing in front of me. "Do you need anything?"

Yumuko sya at pinaglaruan ang mga daliri nya sa kamay. I waited for her to say something. Siguro ay nahihiya lang sya sa akin ngayon dahil ngayon nya lang ako nakita. While she knew Hunter even before.

"Asawa po ba kayo ni Sir Chase?" she asked and looked at me the eye.

I refrained myself to raised an eyebrow because of her question. I'm just a guest here and I should treat them nicely. But this girl clearly likes Hunter and I know that she doesn't like the idea of me being the wife of him.

There's a hope in her eyes as she waited for my answer. Nakita ko pa nga ang tapang sa mga mata nya. Parang hinahamon pa ako. Humalukipkip ako sa harapan nya and her stance quickly crumbled.

"Why are you asking?" I asked with my normal tone but since she doesn't know me, iisipin nyang tinatarayan ko sya.

"Uhm... Ano po..." muli syang napayuko at pinaglaruan na naman ang mga daliri nya. I rolled my eyes. I'm getting pissed and I don't know why I don't like the idea of this girl having a huge crush on Hunter!

It wasn't like I can stop anyone from liking him. Hunter is really hot and sexy with his bad guy look. Iyon pa naman ang gusto ng karamihan sa mga babae. They want the man who looks myterious instead of a man who looks good and neat.

So it's not a surprise for me that this girl, Jane, likes Hunter. Pero ewan ko. Naiinis lang ako.

"Jane."

Kahit hindi ako lumingon ay kilalang kilala ko kung sino ang may ari ng boses na 'yon. I heard his footsteps while climbing the stairs before I felt his presence behind me. Napatunayan kong nasa likod ko na nga sya nang tumingin doon si Jane.

"Sir Chase." bati ni Jane and I can hear the cheerfulness in her voice. Ibang iba sa boses nya kaninang kausap ako. Hindi ko na talaga napigilan at umirap na ako. Jane saw that and she quickly looked down.

"Can you leave us? I'll take care of my wife." Hunter said at nainis pa ako sa sarili ko dahil nagustuhan ko iyong itinawag nya sa akin! A part of me wanted to smirk at the girl who looked so sad with what he said!

"Pero, Sir Chase. Sa kabila po ang kwarto nyo." she even pointed at the door beside my room. I raised at eyebrow at her.

The heck does she wants? Inutusan sya ng amo nyang umalis pero nangatwiran pa sya na walang kinalaman sa sinabi ni Hunter! I don't wanna be a brat like how my twin brother calls me whenever he's pissing me off pero naiinis na talaga ako sa babaeng nasa harapan ko. Hindi ko naman alam kung bakit ako naiinis!

Is it because she likes Hunter? So what, Artemis? You can't control her feelings!

Or am I annoyed by the idea that she's keeping Hunter away from me?
