School was to resume on Monday, the Autumn break we had that spanned for three weeks was over. Talking about other things that were over, my life was too.
I never liked my school, never made new friends or tried out the crazy or risky stuffs kids at my school did. I was a loner and I pretty much enjoyed it that way.
But moving to a school I'd never heard about was way out of my league, yeah, I detested living in Baxwood, I hated the people, I hated the atmosphere and I definitely hated Alina because of the way she treated me but I'll still prefer staying with her than going somewhere I have no idea about, after all they say, the devil you know is better than the angel you don't. That's the saying right? I guess I'll never know.
School was to resume that Monday and it was Saturday already. I'd barely packed at all, it was not like I even had a lot of clothes so, I could've done that anytime, just a little force shoving my clothes into my almost archaic, red, traveling bag and I was good. But, no, the problem was that I wasn't mentally prepared at all.
My aunt hadn't budged at all from all my requests to know what it was all about and the painful thing was there was absolutely nothing I could do. Brad, that boy with a big, fat, boy piggy face, cared about nothing that had to do with me so I couldn't ask him.
I slept that night, surprisingly better than I could remember, it was just like the new turn my life was going to take was worth it. The night was very, very calm, the moon was brilliant and beautiful and the beautiful breeze blew in through my little windows lifting my draperies up in the process.
Sunday came. I woke up pretty early and prepared breakfast, I did every other chore I had to do before preparing for church, or my new school (which ever came first).
I had just taken my bath with my pink soap whose scent reminded me of roses. I was dressed up in a red grown that had beautiful spots of green plains. I wore a four inch, sparkly high heel and I was pretty sure I'd have looked like an angel if I didn't have little bruises over my hands which I normally hid by wearing long sleeves.
I heard muffled voices in the parlor, it was probably Aunt Alina and Brad so, I didn't really care. I got ready, dusted my really old Bible and made my way to meet them.
I got to the sitting room and I was almost completely right, Aunt Alina and Brad were there. And with them was a young man, wearing a dark tuxedo with a white shirt that was in. He wore loafers that had a gold chain that glinted perfectly.
"Good day miss Jacqueline, I am Fred Sawyer. I was sent from your school which your aunt here must have told you about, Huntshire Academy, we're to leave here now if we want to make it there this evening. I'll gladly answer all the questions you might have on the way. May I have your bag ma'am?"
At least he's a gentleman I said to myself while handing him the red travelling bag I had. I hadn't even taken breakfast but I guess that was okay, I was already used to it.
I stepped out of the only place I could call home nervously with Fred leading me to the rather odd limousine that was to convey us. I waved bye to my Aunt, Alina who I could easily see had a fake smile on. She must have been extremely glad to get rid of the nuisance which I was to her. As for Brad, he just stood there staring like his brain couldn't comprehend what was going on.
I heaved a huge sigh of relief as the car sped down the road, sheltering me from the pain I had known almost all my life by taking me out of that environ.
"Hold still ma'am, the car is about to go invisible,we need to fly"
Did Fred just talk to me through my head or was I dreaming?
Were we really going to fly, I thought cars didn't fly, I guessed I had spent so much time in Baxwood and I didn't know what was going on in the world anymore. That was the only reasonable reason I had.
About the car going invisible, I was definitely going to ask about that.
