"Virgil! I'm home!"

Virgil looks up at the door to see Roman, his roommate, enter the apartment.

Roman sits on the couch next to Virgil, joining him in watching The Office.

"How was your date?" Virgil asks.

"Oh, it was.. alright. You know, same old, same old. It's always the same mostly with De."

A couple months back, Roman went on a date with his brother, Remus's, best friend De. They started dating pretty soon after.

"Alright? Just alright?"

"Yep!"

"Ro, is your relationship with him.. good?" Virgil asks.

Roman blinks. "Why, of course! Of course it is! We really enjoy each other! It's great, really!"

Virgil raises an eyebrow. "You don't seem that excited about your dates anymore. You were practically dreading going out to see your boyfriend today."

Roman lets out a small huff of air. "What? No I wasn't-"

Virgil cuts him off. "In fact, every time you've come home from a date in the past.. two months or so, you've been unhappy."

"No-"

"Tell me, Roman, what happened on your date today."

"Well.." Roman made sure Virgil wasn't going to cut him off again. "I.. we went ice skating, and we skated around a bit for maybe an hour, and then we went to his house. We watched a movie, and then I left."

"And how much physical contact did you have during this time period?"

"I.." Roman paused, thinking. "..N-none. But-"

"See, that's what I mean!" Virgil cut him off again. "And don't even try telling me you're 'taking it slow'. You've been dating him for, what.. four months? You've barely had any contact. Knowing you, you crave physical contact, Roman. And you said after your first date that he mentions he's like that, too. So why, Roman, have you barely even held hands?!"

Virgil stops ranting, and both stare at each other. Virgil.. honestly didn't care about Roman's love life with other people. The only reason Virgil was so interested in Roman's relationship with De was because Virgil had a massive crush on his roommate.

Roman gulped, crossing his arms in front of him. "I.. don't.. know."

"Well, Princey.." Virgil looked his roommate in the eyes, "maybe you should get on that."

"..Maybe."

And with that, Virgil got up and went to his room, leaving Roman alone on the couch.

Roman sat on the couch, still, thinking.

Is Virgil right..? Roman thought. I am a pretty romantic person, and I haven't even kissed him yet. We could of held hands while ice skating today, or cuddled while watching the movie.. but we stayed pretty far away from each other all day.

Roman looked at the door of Virgil's room, and sighed. Truthfully, Roman liked Virgil. Roman liked Virgil ten times more than he liked De.

But with De, Roman felt.. comfortable. He knew that nothing bad was going to happen to their relationship at this point, they won't get into any fights, or start hating each other.

De was in Roman's comfort zone, and Virgil wasn't.

If I want Virgil.. I'd have to step way out of my comfort zone. Roman thought. Break up with De, and ask Virgil out. But then, my relationship with Virgil could plummet if he doesn't like me back. And I wouldn't be able to go back to De.

Roman chuckled to himself. He was worrying so much, he sounded like Virgil.

Roman grabbed his phone out of his pocket, and opened up his calendar app. He and De had already scheduled another date- in less than a week.

Roman sighed, and turned his attention back to the sitcom still playing on the television.

Roman knew he'd just have to see what happens.
