T/W: crying
Logan pauses the TV when he hears his phone start to go off. He picks it up- it's the guy who interviewed him for a job.
It's now been a week since that interview, and in that time period Logan scheduled another dinner with Patton- for tonight. At Olive Garden, again.
"Hello?" Logan says as he answers the phone call.
"Hello, Mr. Croft! I just wanted to call you real quick, because after reviewing your application and interview for this job we've decided to hire you!"
Logan's eyes went wide and a smile went on to his face.
"Oh, really? Thank you so much, sir! Uh, when do I start?"
"Now, here's the thing.. we'll be buying you a plane ticket, and dealing with all the airfare nonsense since you're still in Montana. You start January 5th, and the only plane ticket we could get for you this close to Christmas was on December 24th. Will that work for you?"
"Oh, I-"
"Because if not, we might have to consider someone else for the position."
Logan stayed silent. He had two options. He had to make a speedy pros and cons list.
So.. if he takes the job, he gets to move back to Florida, but he'll miss Christmas with his mom and new friends here.
If he doesn't take the job he gets to stay here, but possibly forever.
"..That will not be a problem, sir. I can leave Christmas Eve. Thank you so much again."
"Good, good! Alright, we'll email you plane ticket information, along with where you're gonna be staying, and I will see you January 5th! Goodbye, Mr. Croft."
"Goodbye."
Logan hung up. He set down his phone in his lap, smiling to himself. He got the job.
But slowly, his smile faded as a thought came into his head:
Would it really be that bad to stay here forever?
"..Yes?" Logan answered his thought out loud.
You're going to abandon Patton. Again.
"..He doesn't.. care.. oh my, what am I doing? I'm taking to myself. I need to get ready for dinner tonight- I'll have to tell Patton about my new position."

Logan holds the door of Olive Garden open for Patton as they both walk inside.
"Hello! Table for two?" The waitress asks. Logan and Patton both nod. They are brought to the same table they were at the first time they had dinner.
"So.. how have ya been?" Patton asks.
"I've been good. How are you?"
"Great!"
Patton smiles giddily at Logan, who blushes slightly and smiles back.
"Actually.. there is something I want to make you aware of. I-"
Logan is cut off when a waitress comes over to their table to ask for drink orders. Both quickly make an order, and she walks away.
"You..?" Patton questions, trying to get Logan to continue.
"Oh, yes. I interviewed for a job about a week ago, and I got a call today saying that I got the job."
Logan was expecting Patton to smile, which he did, but he only smiled to hide his face falling.
