Logan lets out a long, relived sigh as he sees his childhood home town- no, his now home town, in the distance.
Logan didn't focus on what his mind was telling him, he knew that this was the right thing to do. He didn't think about the fact that Patton could not want Logan to ever show his face. He didn't think about the fact that Patton could have already told Roman and Virgil about what a jerk Logan was being. He didn't think about the fact that everything could go horribly wrong, because somewhere deep inside of him, he knew that everything was going to be okay. One way or another.
Logan parked his car, and immediately got out. He had one plan. He was going to march right up to 3D, Patton's apartment, and tell him what he actually thinks of him.
And if Patton wasn't awake, since it was almost midnight.. he'd wait all night outside the door until he did wake up.
Logan walked quickly up the stairs to the third floor, and right up to Patton's door.
He didn't even hesitate before knocking.
Logan listened, and to his surprise, he heard someone coming to get the door. He expected Patton to be asleep.
Logan hid his smile as the door opened.
"..Hello-Lo-LOGAN?!"
"I-"
Patton cut him off before he could say anything. "Oh my gosh, you came back! Your plane is probably gone by now, why did you miss it? You-"
"Patton, I'm in love with you."
Both stayed silent, simply staring at each other. Logan turned pink at his own words, but his blushing was nothing compared to Patton's flustered face.
"Wh.. Wait.. huh?"
"I'm.. in love with you. When I was very close to the airport, I realized that I can't just leave you here. I can't go back. I want to stay here, with you, for as long as I want- for as long as we want. You said you've never been happier than in these few weeks, and Patton, I feel the exact same way. And after experiencing everything I've gone through here I simply cannot go back to some old corporate job in Florida. I want to stay here, work here, live here, and I want to be with you, because I love you, Patton."
Both stayed silent, still staring into each other's eyes. Patton slowly took in everything that Logan had said, clinging on to every sweet word in his mind. Centuries seemed to pass as Logan stood there, anxiously waiting for Patton's response.
Finally, Patton pulled Logan into a tight embrace. Logan immediately hugs back, relishing in Patton's affection.
Patton buries his head in Logan's shoulder, still not believing that any of this was happening.
After a good few minutes, Patton looked up into Logan's eyes, still holding him tightly. Patton finally got past the lump in his throat, and spoke.
"I love you too, Logan."
They both smiled widely, and pressed their foreheads together whilst starting to laugh.
They opened their eyes, staring once again at each other. They both smiled gently, clearly seeing the love in each other's eyes.
A mutual understanding seemed to pass between the two of them, and they both closed their eyes. And this time, when they leaned forward, there wasn't a single thing in the universe stopping them.
They closed the gap, immediately melting into each other's touch. They both pulled the other closer, still holding each other in their arms.
After a few seconds, Logan couldn't help but smile with his lips pressed against Patton's. Patton ended up doing the same, and they had to pull away when they both started giggling.
Eventually, they stopped, and Patton looked around. He realized they were still in the hallway.
"Oh, uh.. do you want to come in?" Patton asked.
Logan chuckled, and nodded. They both let go of each other, and walked in. Patton closed the door behind Logan.
Once inside, they both stood awkwardly for a moment, wanting to embrace again but not sure how to ask. Eventually, Patton let out a little giggle and hugged Logan again. Logan smiled and hugged back.
"So, uh.. do you have anywhere to stay, or..?" Patton asked.
Logan chuckled. "Not at the moment, no."
Patton's eyes seemed to beam, and his smile grew. "Oh! Stay here! Stay here! You can stay here with Muffins and me! Maybe come work in my bakery, too! We can all just be one big happy family!"
Logan smiled. "That sounds lovely, Pat. All of that. I presume I'm your official boyfriend, then?"
Patton giggled again, nodding. Logan smiled, leaning forward and gently pecking Patton's forehead. Patton responded with yet another giggle, and they both kissed each other on the lips again. When they parted, Logan looked into Patton's eyes again.
The sheer joy on his face, and the love in his eyes, was enough by itself to convince Logan that he made the right choice.
This was the best decision he had ever made.
