We were still rebuilding the guildhall when the guild decided that they needed a new guild master until we found Makarov. It started when Natsu picked a fight with Elfman. The one to stop the fight was none other than Erza. Everyone else agreed that Erza should be the guild master, including me. Erza, however, was incredibly shocked that we had all voted her to be the guild master.

The chatter quieted down when a very familiar man walked into the area saying, "you are the most suited for the task".The chatter quieted down when a very

Our eyes widened when we saw who it is. "Dorenbolt?!" What surprised me, even more, was the Fairy Tail guild mark on his arm. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was confused. Especially since I appeared to be the only one who remembered him.

Dorenbolt or Mest (these constant name changes get so confusing sometimes) continued. "Master Makarov is in trouble, and you're the only ones who can help him". I narrowed my eyes. It was getting closer, and this was the first step.

He asked Erza to come with him as he needed to show her something. He then turned to me. "You can come too. As a co-founder of this guild, I assume you know about the Lumen Histoire".

I nodded. "I do". I then walked up and fell into step behind Mest as he led us to the basement of the former guildhall.

As we were being led down the winding staircase, Mest explained things to Erza and answered all of her questions. Finally, we got to the bottom of the stairs and stopped in front of two large doors. Mest opened them to reveal Mavis trapped in a giant Lacrima, looking exactly the same as she had 100 years ago. I glanced over at Erza to get a glimpse at her reaction. Judging by the look on her face, shocked would be an understatement. I couldn't really blame her; I would be too.

Before Mest had the chance to explain, we heard voices coming from around the corner. I put my hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Seconds later, Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Wendy, Happy and Carla fell to the floor. I raised an eyebrow at them, still trying not to laugh, while Erza and Mest seemed about as surprised as I was. It only took a second for them to notice the giant Lacrima behind us. They looked about as shocked as Erza was.

"What's going on?" Erza asked.

They all turned to me, including Mest. I let out a deep sigh. "Fine. She's dead, but she isn't". I realized that only raised more questions, so I continued. "She's in a near-death state. We thought she was dead, but we noticed a faint amount of magic energy inside of her, so we placed her inside of this Lacrima to preserve her life force until we figured out a way to bring her back for good. Except we never did".

"How did she even come to be like this?" Lucy asked.

"I don't know, I wasn't there. But I will say one thing, the one that brought her body back to the guildhall, was Zeref". Everyone's eyes widened. To avoid any more questions on the matter, I quickly changed the subject. "Well, now that that's sorted, do you wanna tell us exactly who you are Mest?" That had been weighing on my mind since he showed up earlier today.

Rather than say anything, he implanted his memories into our minds. It was as though it was me living that life rather than him. Apparently, he was originally a member of the guild, but Makarov asked him to spy on the magic council for him. As proof of his dedication to the mission, Mest erased his own memories. It seemed Makarov wanted information on Alakitasia, or more specifically, Alvarez. I couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if it were me that had been given that mission instead of him. Would I have helped my guild or my country? Apparently, Makarov had gone to Alvarez himself to gather intel and speak to the ruler. I wasn't sure if he knew the truth about that country, who its rulers were, or what he was getting himself into.
