I woke up back outside the guildhall. It took me a moment to gather my thoughts and remember what happened. I took one look around and realized we had won. I let out a sigh of relief. After all these years, it was finally over.

It wasn't hard to find my friends celebrating our victory. I caught up with them and talked for a while before my guild and I headed home to celebrate our victory at the guildhall.

A few night's later, I was standing on the balcony staring in the direction that I knew Alvarez was in. Even after everything the Spriggans put us through, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the kingdom. It wasn't their fault all this happened.

I turned my head slightly when I heard Rogue coming up from behind me. He put his arms around my waist while I placed my hands on top of his. "What are you thinking about?" he said from behind me.

I turned around to face him. I took one last look at the horizon and knew what I had to do. Taking a deep breath, I turned back to him and looked him in the eyes as I said, "I can't marry you". His eyes widened. He looked devastated, but I wasn't finished. "The people of Alvarez, they're going to need someone to help them through this defeat".

"Why does it have to be you?" he asked, his voice shaky.

"Because I'm the princess of that kingdom". His eyes widened again. "My brother was the king, so that makes me the princess. As the princess, it's my duty to help my people in any way that I can". I looked in the direction of Alvarez again. "My brother built that kingdom as a symbol of war, but I'm going to rebuild it as a symbol of peace".

His eyes glistened with unshed tears. "Then I'll go with you".

I shook my head. "I can't ask that of you. Your place is here, in Sabertooth, with Sting and Frosch. Where I need to be right now is in Alvarez". I cupped his cheek with my hand. "I love you always Rogue Cheney, and that will never change, but I have to go". I gently squeezed his hand and gave him a kiss on the cheek as I whispered the word "goodbye" to him.

I reluctantly let go of his hand and walked away as a tear fell down my cheek. I didn't turn around once. If I had, I might've just run back to him.

A few months later, I was standing in front of the entire kingdom with my new crown on my head and Brandish and Ajeel on either side of me. I looked out at my people as I thought of the man that built this place.'I will do it, Zeref. I will create the type of kingdom you couldn't. I hope you can be proud of me'.

The End

A/N: I know, this ending is shorter than the other one, but I'm afraid this is all I came up with.
