Morning Star

Warren was keeping an eye out for the enemy with this device he created to sense the enemy. Suddenly, the lights turned off and I got this eerie feeling. 'They're here'.

Warren's device went off and dozens of little red dots appeared on the screen. I rushed outside to see if I could see anything, but was met with fog. I looked up to see a lot of airships with the Alvarez mark heading our way. On top of the one at the front was Ajeel.

They started shooting at us, heading straight for the guildhall, but a forcefield was put up thanks to Freed.

Mavis sent for the dragon slayers and exceeds to fight them in the sky. After that, ships started exploding one by one. The Jupiter canon shot through the sky straight at Ajeel, but he blocked the attack. The dragon slayers landed on Ajeel's ship but were overcome with motion sickness. That's when Erza joined the fight. The Ajeel division landed on the ground, giving the dragon slayers the opportunity to fight.

Meanwhile, a hole was opened in the forcefield. I knew exactly who could've caused that. 'Looks like another has shown up'. I looked out into the city and saw the Wall division walking through the streets, led by Wall himself. I was still waiting for Zeref to show up.

Suddenly, more of the 12 started showing up. It seemed they were trying to surround us. 'Not bad Zeref, not bad at all'.

The room was filled with anxiety. There was something I found strange. Warren mentioned the North, South and East, but he didn't mention the West, which meant that was where Zeref was coming from. I closed my eyes and stretched my power out towards the West. Eventually, I reached my limit and came up empty, which meant either I was wrong or he hadn't yet reached us. I didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved.

Suddenly, a sandstorm managed to cover the whole of Magnolia, which I knew had to be Ajeel's doing. There was a sparkle in the sky which I knew came from Erza and the Jupiter Cannon shot to the sky right towards it, hitting Ajeel and knocking him off his ship. The sand cleared enough for me to see what was going on.

I watched Erza destroyed the ship and send Ajeel flying to the ground. I waited until Natsu caught Erza and Ajeel hit the ground before moving. I teleported to the place where Ajeel landed. I don't know how he was still conscious.

I walked up to him calmly. "Well Ajeel, you lost. I guess now it's over for you. You should've stayed in Alvarez". I placed my foot on his chest and pressed down, cutting off his breathing circulation.

"Go on, do it," Ajeel managed to say. "Prove to everyone you're no better than us. Your friends, your precious fiancé. Prove to them you're no better than the very man they're fighting". My image of Rogue floated through my mind. He wouldn't want this, and neither would Natsu. After another second, I removed my foot and teleported back to the guildhall without another word.

After that, the enemy fell one by one. As we were celebrating our short-term victory, Lucy and Cana walked in with Brandish. We put her in the dungeon.

After everyone had left her alone, I walked downstairs with a cup of water. I stopped right in front of her cell. "You thirsty?" She just looked away, so I just held the water in front of her. After a while, she reluctantly walked up to me. I tipped the water into her mouth and watched as she drank. I waited until she finished her drink. "Where's my brother?" She looked away again. I rolled my eyes. "I don't like this any more than you do, but I have to know where he is".

She looked back at me. "I'm not you. I'm not going to betray my kingdom".

I clenched my hands into fists before taking a deep breath and loosening my hands. I let out an amused laugh. "Fine, then you can rot in there for all I care". Without waiting for a reply, I turned around and went upstairs to wait for my brother.

A/N: I spent a while trying to decide whether to keep writing or publish this chapter as it is, but in the end, I decided to leave it there. Guess you'll have to read about Natsu's first fight with Zeref next week...
