Hundreds of Christmas lights lit up the street that Wooyoung and San were walking through. It was dark and cold, which affected Wooyoung a bit, but he was decked out in warm clothing, the beanie pulled over his ears and the scarf almost falling off because of the freezing wind.
San on the other hand, was only wearing a light sweater. He was always cold, so it didn't bother him as much as it did to Wooyoung. He did wish he could give a bit of warmth to the younger, but that would never happen.
"Sannie, look!" Wooyoung had pulled San with him to a little tent that said something about reading your future. He definitely didn't have time to read it clearly, as they were inside already.
"She'll tell us about our future." Wooyoung whispered in San's ear before the older lady told them to sit down.
"Good evening. It's my pleasure to meet such handsome boys at the same time. May I ask what you want to know about your future?" She asked the duo.
"I would like to know what my love life will bring." Wooyoung asked enthousiastically, earning a confused look by San.
"What? You don't trust me?" San asked, a bit sceptical about all of this.
"The two of you are a couple, right?" The lady asked, earning a roll of the eyes by San.
"You wouldn't say." He answered her sarcastically.
"There are secrets the two of you are hiding from each other. It'll strengthen your relationship if told in the right moment, but will be difficult to accept if found out on a moment neither of you are ready for it. There's darkness surounding you. But only time will tell if you'll act on it or not." She looked at San with her last words, earning another roll of the eyes from the brunette.
"Can you tell us something that is actually helpful or not?" San snaps at her, getting very annoyed by her words.
"You have a fierce attitude, don't you? Well, I'll tell you one last thing. Your relationship will know the most difficult moment that you have to overcome together. It won't be easy." She ended, giving the duo a concerned look. San immediately grabbed Wooyoung's hand and pulled him up, not wanting to stay there a second longer. Of course he didn't believe the bullshit she was telling them. She was clearly homophobic and just wanted them to break up.
"Be careful with him, he's not in full control over himself and might do things he'll regret later on." The lady whispered to Wooyoung, who had let go of San's hand when she started talking to him.
"W-what do you mean? What will he do?" Wooyoung sounded concerned. He didn't want San to get hurt.
"Wooyoung, let's go!" San's voice could be heard from outside and Wooyoung couldn't do anything other than go there too, without an answer as to what will happen. He couldn't say he wasn't scared, even if it was only a little bit, because he cared so much about San, and was scared he would get hurt. Because of him.
"What are you thinking about? Don't let her words get to you. It's all bullshit, she says it to everyone, just to make them scared and break up. It's not worth worrying about, Woo. I mean it. I would never keep any secrets from you anymore. You know everything about me and I'm sure you aren't hiding anything from me either." San softly let his hands stroke the smaller's cheeks, but the worrisome look never left Wooyoung's eyes. San saw that too, and started doubting his own words. He couldn't be sure if Wooyoung was hiding something from him, but he decided to just trust him and forget about the lady's words.
"Let's go get food somewhere." San decided to ignore the tension-filled air and changed the topic. He took Wooyoung's hand and started to search for a food stand. He hoped Wooyoung would choose one, because he wouldn't know what would taste good.
"Sannie! Let's get tteokbokki!" Wooyoung was already pulling San in the direction of the food stand, ready to get some yummy food. San had promised to pay for it, buying the tteokbokki for Wooyoung and a swirled sweet potato for himself. They went to search for a calm spot where they could sit down to eat the food.
They didn't say much while eating, enjoying the silence for a moment."What does it taste like?" San asked the blonde, sadness visible in his eyes.
"You really can't taste it, can you?" San shook his head as an answer.
"I read some books. About vampires I mean. You don't need normal food, right? And how many times do you have to drink blood? Did you ever drink from a human? Do you-" Wooyoung got cut of by San, who got a bit overwhelmed by the questions.
"Don't ask so many questions, I can't answer so many at once." San laughed, finding it cute how Wooyoung's cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
"I ... I'm not sure if I need normal food. We eat normal food every two days, but I don't know if it is to make us feel a bit more normal or if we actually need it. The amount we drink depends from person to person, just like how some people eat twice as much as someone else." San answered, but Wooyoung noticed how he avoided the last question. He knew he shouldn't he forcing San to answer it now, so he just acted as if he didn't ask it and let his head fall on San's shoulder, looking up at the sky."I'm sorry ..." Wooyoung's voice cut through the silence.
"What for?"
"For the future thingy, I know it's stupid."
"It's okay, you were curious about it, that's understandable. But let's just forget about it, okay?" San tried to cheer the younger up.
"I love you, okay? Never forget that." Wooyoung suddenly confessed, gaining a confused look by San, but he let his face soften immediately when he saw tears threatening to fall down the blonde's face.
"I love you too. You shouldn't forget about that either." San smiled, softly stroking through Wooyoung's hair to make him relax a bit.
"The stars are bright tonight, don't you think?" Wooyoung whispered softly.
"They are."
"Do you think ... People who die, shine their light on us? Is that why there are so many of them?"
"I don't know, Woo. We'll only know if we end up there ourselves." San softly let his fingers intertwine with Wooyoung's, both of them looking up at the sky. Suddenly loud bangs could be heard. Fireworks were lighting up the sky now, making sure everyone knew the new year had begun. A year that promised different things to every individual, but not showing the difficult moments just yet. They hid behind the hope of it being a better year than the year before. But no one knows for sure, what the year will bring.

Well, there was my attempt on writing a cute chapter, but I failed miserably.
I hope you still liked it, even though it was a bit angsty.
Also, happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2020 and the new decade will bring a lot of beautiful memories. It's still 2019 here, but in around an hour, I'm in the new decade too 💖
I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I hope you'll be having a nice start of the new year. If not, and you want to talk to someone, I'm open for that. No matter about what you want to talk, I'll always listen. There's no good in keeping your feelings to yourself. I promise, if things aren't going that well, it'll get better 💖
