Promise (Ateez au)

Chapter XXVIII

"Why is he so stupid?! Seriously, someone educate him on how to live your life as a vampire and all of the dangers because I'm not going to! He's going to get someone killed, if it's not himself." Hongjoong sounded furious. He told Wooyoung so stay where he was, yet that kid didn't listen and now they had to search for him.

"Calm down, Joong. We'll find him. He still has a lot to learn, don't be too harsh on him yet." Yunho said calmly, holding Hongjoong back from storming outside.

"You stay here, all of you. If I come back and one of you isn't here ... Whatever, it's your problem when you get in trouble." Hongjoong sighed before making his way outside. He could find Wooyoung easily because of how fast he was. Yet, Wooyoung wasn't the only person he found. He kept his distance from Wooyoung a little bit, and hid behind a tree as well. He saw a figure standing there, who couldn't be mistaken as someone other than San. He was talking to himself, yet Hongjoong heard it all clearly.

"Please, let me go! It hurts, hyung, it hurts so much! Just give me my body back ..." San whispered, visibly in pain. His hand was shaking while trying to wipe away a tear that was making it's way down his cheek. But suddenly his expression changed, a smirk forming on his face. "You were an amazing host, but you're starting to get on my nerves right now. Fine, I'll give you your body back." The brunette said to himself again, an emotionless expression taking over, but not for long. San's eyes suddenly turned a bright red, before they rolled back and a hiss escaped his mouth. A sudden dark mist started to come out of his chest while his eyes closed completely. The mist started to gain shape and an all too familiar person showed himself. Wooyoung had to get out of here. If he didn't, then who knows what Jongho would do to him. He just wanted to make his way to said vampire, before San suddenly stumbled back, grabbing a tree to stabilise himself. A branch snapping suddenly could be heard from Wooyoung's direction. That idiot of course wanted to rush to the boy.
Jongho looked in the direction where the sound came from, interested steps taken in that direction.

Hongjoong rushed to Wooyoung, covering his mouth as he pulled him back. "Go back home, Yunho and the rest are there. I'll take care of this." Hongjoong whispered sternly. He wasn't going to let Wooyoung disobey again.

"But San-"

"Go, we'll try to figure everything out there. Tell the others about this already. And go to your place afterwards ..." Hongjoong whispered back, cutting the youngest off. Luckily Wooyoung stopped struggling and ran away as fast as he could.

"Look who we have here. If it isn't my favorite dongsaeng." Jongho's bitter smile turned into a frown before he grabbed Hongjoong's neck and harshly pushed him against a tree. "I'm giving you one last chance to stay out of this. Besides, you probably got Yunho already, so just keep it with that. If I see you showing up once more, I won't leave it with that. You know I don't care about you, so why should I care about your life?" The oldest threatened, letting go of the silver-haired man. "Just go and live your life peacefully without getting in my way."

"I'm not going down without a fight, Jongho. I thought you knew that." Hongjoong challenged the other, turning around and making his way back to the house, hoping the others were still there.

"Kwan, wake up! We have to get out of here immediately!" The sudden voice of Sehyoon woke said boy up. The lack of sleep was really going to weigh on him, but he couldn't just ignore the other.

"What's wrong?" Byeongkwan responded, still sounding sleepy. He rubbed his eyes to wake up a bit more, but he still felt way too tired.

"There was this guy and it looked so dodgy and I don't know what's going on! We have to get out of here." Sehyoon whisper-shouted, almost dragging the younger out of bed.
