Elemental High - Part One (Reader x Adam, Jaiden x James )

Y/N's POV

Another day at boring old school. I guess nothing really changes here. I walked to school with James today and as soon as we opened the door there was a bunch of students talking about whatever. We walked over to our normal group of friends : Jaiden, Adam, and Tim.

James was a water type so he had water powers. Tim was an earth type so he had powers with nature. Jaiden was an air type so she had wind powers. Adam was a fire type do he had fore powers. Sadly, I still haven't found my type. Everyone says that's it takes time but it never happens. Now I have extra work to do because I have to go to every class until I get my powers.

"You alright Y/N?" Jaiden asked.

"Yeah I'm fine.Just tired because I studied all night. Adam and I have a fire test today and Tim and I have a project due."

"Wow you know what everyone I gonna do whenever. How do you do it?" Tim asked.

"It's a very painful struggle." I said yawning. Never get sleep because of all this studying and trying to get my powers as soon as possible.

First was my water classes, I just got water for the other students. James was doing great because he could shot  water from his hands and bend it to his own will.  Next, was air which I could never understand. Air was the hardest for me. Jaiden could do amazing things with her air powers. She could blow stuff around, make tornadoes, and if it was light she could levitate it stuff. Then was earth, I just put some seeds in the ground. Tim however was making plants grow and shooting vines. Last, was fire which was out test. Normally, in fire I didn't do anything because it was the most dangerous of all the classes. Sometimes I could just go get water but nothing else more.

When I got the test back it was a passing grade surprisingly. 92%. Adam shot me the 'what did you get' glare. I showed him my paper and he showed me his. He got a 95%. Next to Adam was Cheerio,bsome girl he was with before. Adam looked over onto her test and shot her a glare. "So you cheated on the test too?" he said.

The class went almost dead silent from the comment. "Ooo~" I went kinda enjoying the drama. Everyone else looked at each other worriedly.

"I didn't cheat off of you."

"You sure? Because you got the same questions as me wrong as me."

"Quit trying to relate to a piece of paper Adam." she said.

The class was really silent this time. "You gonna get it." I said looking at her with an evil smile. The bell rang and everyone left. Adam looked furious as he sat at the lunch table.

"What happened with him?" Tim asked us. "He think stupid cereal girl cheated off of him so now there probably gonna fight." I told them. Sometimes people have elemental fights at the school. There only aloud to use there powers and nothing else.

"Looks like I should get ready. There could be a huge fire here." James said practicing his water bending on some juice.

I tried to comfort Adam. "Hey dude forget about it. She wants to get on your nerves. Just ignore her. You smarter than her anyways, everyone knows." Adam looked back and me and calmed down. "Thanks Y/N. I'm sorry she just really pissed me off. I'm glad I got a kid like you by my side though." he said messing with my hair. "I'm 3 years younger than you!" I said mumbling laugh enough for him and I to hear. He just laughed it off.

It didn't look like anyone wanted to fight Adam today anyway. I would but, like I said no powers. My friends always have to take up my fights for me. Turns out someone did show up. It was Cheerio again. She looked like she was challenging Adam.

"Leave us alone cereal. We don't what to be bothered by you. No one wants to deal with your bullshit fighting skills." I said.

"What do you know about fighting? You don't even have powers. You can't fight."

"I can't do fig-"

"Quiet sweetheart, the big kids are talking." she said. Now I was mad. She was right though, I didn't have any powers to fight with. But I didn't care at this point. I ran at her and punched her in the face.

"That was a huge mistake Y/N." she said. She threw fire balls at me but I ran around them. "Aww crap I'm so dead." I though. She tripped me and tried to burn me but I moved out of the way. I ran around her as fast as I could trying to get hurt but she burned me leg and I fell to the ground. My pants leg was on fire. She stood above me and I was stuck.

"This is what you get for trying to fight me."

As soon as she was about to burn me to a crisp she was hit with a fireball. "Get away from her bitch!" Adam said.  He saved me. Cheerio!s hair was on fire as she scrambled to stop the flame. James put out any fire that was burning including on my leg. Cheerio backed off and my friends surrounded me.

"Are you ok Y/N?"

"Yeah I'm fine, I think I just burned my leg real bad."

"I'll take her." Adam said picking me up and taking me to the nurse. He sat me down on a chair outside her office. I was embarrassed not knowing what to say. I knew it was stupid what I did. I was too scared to look at my leg so I just looked down.

"Let's see how bad it is." Adam said pulling up my pants leg. It was a huge burn mark. It was black and blue with some blood around it.

The nurse was nice and she took good care of me. I limped out fine but I was still upset. "I'm sorry Adam, what I did was stupid. I can't fight."

"May not of been your best by you were cool. Plus you were looking out for me and that's one of your best qualities. It's what I like the most about you.  I blushed and looked away. "T-thanks..." Why was I blushing? Whatever. .

"Hey, if she bothers you again tell me and I'll take care of it." he told me.

"Ok." I said. It wasn't fair though. I should be able to fight my own battles not need Adam to take care of them for me. I guess it's just being useless again.
