they know where appa is. they are hiding him. and aang needs to know that. all that was on my mind was finding a way to get appa back to aang, knowing the bison was a big part of him.
''Y/N, are you ok? you didn't say anything the entire morning, you'd usually make mustache out of bread pieces and laugh at everything. I know when something's wrong.", grandpa broke the awkward silence.
"i'm fine, just tired from yesterday, that's all'', i lied. I finished breakfast, and just left my home, running towards the gaang's house.
after the fiasco with the soldiers that had happened yesterday, i actually remembered the way to their house.
as soon as i got there, i barged in on aang shaving his head, toph sleeping on the floor, katara reading a scroll, and sokka polishing his boomerang.
nothing unusual or weird, i guess. the first person who noticed me was sokka, and he stood up, asking me what's wrong.
''It's about appa!'', the second i mentioned him, aang looked up to me with a hopeful look, so I continued, "yesterday, when I was going back home, I got kinda lost. while trying to find the way, I overheard some soldiers talking about appa.
then a man with mustache and a bald spot on his head came and told the soldiers to escort me back home, as if I just found out some top military secret. kinda strange.''
aang threw the razor and barely missed sokka's poor face and said: ''now I know why long feng and everyone who walks out of the royal palace is acting strange! qe need to go and get appa. now."
he was unusually serious, so not wanting to ruin the mood I said: "yeah.. let's go."
"uhm Y/N?" Katara said all of a sudden,'' I don't think it'd be safe for you to go with us. you know, since you don't have expirience, with fighting.''
"excuse me? just because you didn't see me fight, doesn't mean I don't know how to.'', I said, glaring at katara.
"alright girls, if you're going to fight, do it outside.", sokka said unusually calmly, standing in between Katara and I.
"I'm the one who told you all this information, it wouldn't be fair if you went without me.'' I noted, shifting my gaze to aang.
he sighed and nodded. all of us went outside, looking up to the palace.
"hello aang, and katara, and sokka, and toph", a monotone female voice said. "joo dee? What happened to you? did the dai li throw you in jail or something?"
''oh no, i just simply took a vacation to lake laogai, it was quite relaxing'', the woman, supposedly called joo dee answered, in the same creepy voice.
"also, we've found these posters around the city. It's forbidden to do such things without proper permission."
that's when aang went off: "we don't care about your rules! we are going to find appa on our own and you should just stay out of our way! from now on, we'll do whatever it takes to find appa.''
"yeah! let's break some rules!'' toph shouted, breaking a wall of their house.
i just stared in confusion: "is...she always like that?" "yup.", sokka said, and we continued our way.

"lake laogai...i heard some rumors that there is some kind of a secret passage to the underworld...or no...the underground. Some friends of mine said that there's even cells and chambers in there''
something snapped in aang and he quickly said: "take us there!". he was acting really strange.
when we arrived, everyone looked confused. the lake looked like any other lake, there seemed to be no secrets.
"so...where's the secret headquarters?'', sokka asked. toph moved her feet, like she felt some kind of vibrations and said: "there's a tunnel right there, near the shore."
with that, some mud showed up near where she was pointing, and we all hesitantly walked into the secret passage.
we snuck and hid behind the big walls, finding our way towards the center of the tunnels.
"i think that there might be a cell that could hold qppa somewhere ahead", i said, leading the path, while trying to act smart.
we snuck into the previously mentioned cell, and the doors closed behind us.
we were attacked by the dai li. I tried blocking the earth gloves they shot at us, but toph was quicker. she blocked out all the dai li agents and aang moved foward, chasing long feng.
a little bit after, we followed aang, opening up the chamber he was in. I noticed him squatting near a lifeless body, and ran towards them. It was the guy who claimed that lee is a firebender.
katara used her healing, but it was useless. his body felt completely numb. after some guys came in, claiming to be his friends and promising to keep him safe, we left, chasing dai li and their leader.
we climbed up to the shore of the lake. the agents noticed us and began running in our direction, trapping us in between tall walls.
long feng stood on the opposite side, patiently waiting for us to fall into his trap as we were surrounded by walls, helpless.
momo jumped on aangs shoulder, poiting towards the sun. at first there was just a small silhouette of an animal, but as it got closer, it was clear to see what it was. a flying bison, it was appa.
aang and toph knocked down the agents off of the cliff, so in the rush of adrenaline, I bent a few rocks that fell down on the ground, aiming each agent in the face.
long feng got bit by appa, and the agents left.
I was never this happy for someone else. aang looked like all his happiness came back as he hugged the bison, crying tears of joy. after a short while, he asked: "want a ride back home?"
without even thinking, I nodded and jumped onto the bison, and it waited for his owner to tell him to go. "yip yip"
I smiled at how happy they all were, and i didn't even notice that we were getting close to my house. we landed, and exchanged goodbyes, but they told me they'll visit me as long as they're in the city.
still smiling, i sat down on my balcony and watched the sunset, finally without worries.

hhhh I'm sooo sorry that some of you waited for this chapter, i spent some time with my family since it's the holidays, and i had writers block. this chapter was written in kind of a rush so it might not make sense in some parts. also-
