Chapter 13: Reintroduction

The two Homeworld Gems heard the warp pad and turned around. "Well, look who finally decided to show up. Wait, Jade?" Emerald asked when she saw her old friend. "Yep," Jade said. "Who the hell is that?!" Diamond questioned in fear. "Oh, her? She's Garnet. The current leader of the Crystal Gems, and the first cross Gem fusion. Oh, she's also my girlfriend." Diamond and Emerald both blushed when Jade told them that. "Y-your, girlfriend...?" Jade nodded. "Damn it..." Emerald whispered. "We also have someone else we want you guys to meet." Garnet and Jade walked outside and down the stairs to the beach, Emerald and Diamond reluctantly following behind. Garnet held out her hand to Jade, and the two began dancing. "Hahaha! That's much better!" Iolite said when the two fused. Emerald and Diamond stared up at the huge fusion in front of them with wide eyes. "E-Emerald?" Diamond asked. "Yeah?"
"Should we fuse?"
"Yeah." Emerald and Diamond quickly danced, still in awe by the new rebel fusion. "Aw, how cute! Does little Turquoise think she can beat me?" Iolite laughed. "Adorable." She summoned her baton with a grin. Iolite spun it around, before hitting Turquoise in the face with it. "Wow! This is way more fun than I thought it would be!" Turquoise tried to fight back but kept getting struck down by Iolite. "Why don't you just give up now and save yourself the embarrassment? I highly suggest it, especially in front of your Quartzes! A huge fusion like you, losing to a 'pathetic' rebel fusion? Just imagine what everyone back on Homeworld will think! And what about... the Diamonds?" Iolite taunted. She jumped in the air, flying high above the temple, then slammed her baton into Turquoise's head, causing Emerald and Diamond to unfuse. Iolite landed gracefully and asked, "Do you give in, or are you ready for more?" Emerald and Diamond were terrified. "W-we surrender! Please just let us go back home!" Diamond begged. "Hmm... Fine. I'll let you go back. But just know-" Iolite leaned down close to Emerald and Diamond. "If you ever come back looking to pick another fight with me, I'll make it much worse for you. Okay?" Emerald and Diamond nodded and ran back to their ship, their Quartz guards following, then the ship flew off. "Buh-bye!" Iolite called. Garnet and Jade unfused. "We were amazing!" Jade said and jumped up to hug Garnet. "Yes, we were. Now, let's go get the others."
    

Jade and Garnet warped back to Centi's ship and told the others it was safe to come back. "Wow, that was quick," Amethyst said. "What can we say? Iolite works fast," Jade told her.
