Later, after Kunzite unfused, Connie came over to the temple to hang out with Steven. "Wow! This looks much better than it did a few days ago!" She said when she arrived. "Yep! Peridot, Topaz, Jade, Coral, and Lapis fixed it up!" "Cool! It looks really nice, y' know," Connie told them.
Connie and Steven sat in Steven's room, playing Golf Quest Mini, while the rest of the Gems were outside sparring. Peridot used her metal powers to levitate some old tin cans, while the others used their weapons to either get the cans out of the sky or destroy them. "Why aren't you outside with the Gems?" Connie asked Steven. "There isn't much I could do against those cans with just my shield. Plus, I usually let them do it on their own," Steven replied. "Well, I think you and I could do some sparring together like we did when Amethyst was watching us that one time."
"True. I guess we could do that. Wanna go out there now?" Connie nodded. "Okay! Let's go!" Connie left the house with Steven after she grabbed the sword. Once they got down to the beach, Steven summoned his shield and blocked all of Connie's attacks. "Wow, you're getting better, Connie!" Steven told his friend. "Thanks! I guess helping Alexandrite as Stevonnie helped me out a little bit."
"Probably. But even without that, you're still really good with my mom's sword." Connie smiled at Steven.
