Steven was huddled in a corner of the barn, practically crying his eyes out. "Great, now they made Steven cry! This has to stop! Nobody makes my friends cry!" Lapis told Peridot. "I know, but what can we do? The other Gems told us to stay away from the fight. Plus, it's not like we could do anything," Peridot replied as she sat on a wooden crate and used her ferrokinesis to play with some spoons. "W-we could fuse! You & I could-"
"Lapis, I'm not sure if I can fuse. I tried it with Garnet but failed. I don't know if Era 2 Peridots even have the ability to fuse with other Gems. Besides, are you sure you're ready to fuse again? After... Y'know, last time?"
"Yes, I-I'm sure. Have you even tried fusing a second time? Maybe it'll work if you try again," Lapis suggested. "You really think so?" Peridot asked. Lapis nodded. "O-okay, but just to help the Gems," Peridot said before Lapis grabbed her hand. "You know how to dance, right?" Lapis asked as she led her friend outside. "Sorta. I mean, I've never really danced in front of anybody else. O-only in front of a mirror after Steven taught me. I'm not very good either."
"Please, I bet you're great!" Lapis told her. Peridot's cheeks turned a darker shade of green. "Thanks," she said. "No problem. Now, let's fuse." Lapis began doing a ballet-style dance on her own, while Peridot did a robot-like dance. "Peridot, I thought you said you couldn't dance!" Lapis said to her friend. "I-I can't! You call this dancing?" Peridot replied. "Yeah! That looks great!" Lapis said as she danced to Peridot. Peridot took Lapis's hand & pulled her in closer. Lapis smiled. Their gemstones began to glow brightly and so did their bodies. "Ready?" Lapis asked. Peridot nodded. Lapis kissed her right before they fused, which caused Peridot to blush furiously. Their forms then melded together & in their places, stood a tall, blue-green Gem. She opened her four eyes and looked at her hands. "Holy smokes... W-we fused! Peridots really can fuse! Awesome!!" She shouted as she danced around. Steven was sitting in the barn alone when he heard the new fusion laughing outside. He ran out the door & saw Lapis and Peridot's fusion hugging herself. "Lapis? Peridot? Is that you?" He asked. "Oh, Steven! I'm so glad you came out here! Yes, it's us!" The fusion told him when she turned around. "Wow! What's your name?"
"Hmm... I-I hadn't thought about that yet... I guess I look like, an Amazonite!" She said. "Awesome! Amazonite... Sounds cool! Could I just call you 'Amazon'?" Steven asked. "Sure! That works!" Amazonite said. "So, why'd you guys fuse?"
"We're gonna help the others fight those Homeworld jerks!" Steven was in shock. "But they told us to stay here!" He said. "So? They need our help! Alexandrite can't possibly beat those Homeworld Gems on her own! Plus, Zircon won't know that Peridot is there since she's fused with Lapis!" He thought about that. "I guess that's true. But what will I do? I can't fight! I don't have anyone to fuse with!"
"Right. Well, what about Connie? Stevonnie could help! So could Lion!" Amazon replied. "I suppose I could call her. This would be a great mission for her!" Amazon smiled. "Okay! I'll go call her!" Steven ran in the barn to grab his phone & call Connie. Amazon remained outside, proud of herself for getting Steven to come fighting with her. "Hello?" Connie asked when she picked up the phone. "Hey, Connie!" Steven replied on the other end. "Oh! Hi, Steven! What's up?"
"There's a huge fusion of Homeworld Gems fighting the other Gems by my house, so Amazonite & I are gonna fight them. Wanna come?"
"Sure! But, who's Amazonite?" Steven laughed. "Right, she's the fusion of Lapis & Peridot," he told her. "They fused? Cool!"
"Yeah! Should I come to pick you up on Lion?"
"Sure. I'll go tell my parents," Connie said to her friend. "Okay! I'll meet you there in a minute," Steven said before hanging up and running out of the barn to his preferred mode of transport.
"Amazon! I'm gonna go pick up Connie!"
"Okay! I'll be here!" She called. Steven jumped on Lion & said, "To Connie's house!" Lion opened a portal and jumped through it.
When they exited the portal, they found Connie standing outside her house in her fighting clothes, sword in hand. "Hey, Steven! Ready to go?" She asked. "Yep! You?" Steven said and nodded. "Yep!" Steven patted Lion's back right behind him. She got on Lion's back and handed the sword to Steven, who put it in Lion's mane. Connie wrapped her arms around Steven as they jumped into a portal.
They came back to the barn and Amazonite turned around to see them. "Wow, that was fast! Oh! hi there, Connie! I'm Amazonite. You can just call me 'Amazon'," she said and held out her hand, which Connie shook. "Nice to meet you, Amazon. So, you're a fusion?" Amazon nodded. She moved some of her hair out of the way of her forehead to reveal her top pair of eyes, along with Peridot's gem. "Awesome! So, who are the Homeworld Gems & what do they want?" Connie asked Amazon & Steven. "Their names are Pink Coral, Blue Topaz, & Jade, I think. They want to take us back to Homeworld, but their ship is wrecked," Amazon replied. "Alexandrite is fighting their fusion right now, but she's so unstable, she might unfuse while fighting them," Steven said. "Should you & I fuse?" Connie asked Steven. "That's what Amazon suggested. Lion could help, too!"
"Cool! Right now?" He nodded. "Okay!" Connie & Steven began to dance until Steven's gem glowed. She kissed him on the cheek right before they fused. "Alright! I'm ready to go!" Stevonnie said as they stood up. "Perfect! Let's get to the warp pad!" Amazon replied. "Okay!" Stevonnie hopped on Lion & started to run to the warp pad when they realized they could use Lion's portals. "Wait, Lion could get us there faster!" They called. "Right! I forgot about him!" Amazon said. "Hop on!" Stevonnie told her. "Are you sure Lion can handle this much weight?" Amazon asked as she climbed on Lion's back. "Yeah. He's carried Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, & Peridot all at once on his way to the moon one time!" Stevonnie answered. "Okay then. If you say so..." Lion roared to open a portal and jumped through it, the two fusions on his back. "Wooo hooo!!" Stevonnie yelled as they flew through the portal. They were having a blast. Amazon, on the other hand, was just trying not to fall off.
