Later that night, Jade was sitting in the living room while projecting an image of the rings she bought for Garnet, and she sighed happily. "I can't believe I'm gonna do this... I'm gonna ask someone to marry me, and not just anyone. A fusion! I've never been this nervous, and I was in a war!" Memories started popping up in her mind, and she was soon remembering the most important day of her life-the day she emerged.

A long time ago, over 6,000 years ago, in fact, a group of Era 1 Peridots and a smug-looking Pearl of a yellow hue were huddled together and observing a seemingly normal wall. "9TQ, are you sure you mixed the minerals right? I thought she was supposed to have emerged by now," a Peridot with her gemstone on her left hip said. "Yes, 9TR, I'm sure. I went with the exact specifications we were sent. I know what I-" The conversation was cut short by a bright green glow coming from the wall. "I told you I didn't mess up! I knew it was gonna work!" 9TQ shouted to taunt her fellow Peridot. When the glowing stopped, a green Gem fell to her knees from a hole resembling her silhouette  "Well, it's about time. Our Diamond has been waiting for you, 1MA," Yellow Pearl said and helped the newly formed Gem to her feet. "Our Diamond? Wait, where's everyone else?"
"Stars, you're slow. You're the only Gem who's been made in this Kindergarten so far. You're Yellow Diamond's first Jade, and we need to leave this awful place so she can see how you came out." Yellow Pearl turned to the tall green Gems. "Thank you, Peridots. That will be all," she said and walked towards the exit of the canyon-like structure to their Diamond's room, the younger Gem following behind.

"So, you're a Pearl?" Yellow Pearl nodded. "And I'm a Jade?" A loud sigh could be heard coming from the yellow Gem as she turned. "Yes, I'm a Pearl, you're a Jade, and the Gem up there-" she pointed to a pair of large, yellow doors, guarded by two Citrines. "Is a Diamond. Our Diamond. Any more questions?" She huffed and put her hands on her hips. "No, no more questions. My apologies."
"Good, now we need to keep going. We do not want to keep our Diamond waiting." They continued walking until they reached the doors. The Citrines opened the doors as soon as Yellow Pearl and Jade walked up to them.

"My Diamond, we have arrived," Yellow Pearl said and bowed. "'We'? Who's with you?" Yellow Diamond asked her servant while she turned away. "Your Jade, my Diamond. She's finally emerged." The Diamond's eyes widened and she turned to face the smaller Gems. "It worked? It did! I made the first Jade! White is going to be so proud of me!" She noticed that she was getting too excited and stopped. "Ahem. I mean... Thank you, Pearl. Can she and I talk in private for a moment?"
"Of course, my glorious Diamond." Yellow Pearl left the room and stood by the door after it shut.
"M-my Diamond, I am-"
"Jade 1MA, my first successful attempt at making one of you. Welcome to Homeworld."
"Thank you, my Diamond. I will serve you well." Jade performed the Diamond salute, despite never doing it before. "Excellent. I haven't thought of what your purpose will be, so you can stay here with me and my Pearl until it's decided."

For years, Jade acted as a second Pearl to her Diamond. She helped Yellow Pearl attend to her duties, such as inspecting new batches of Gems. "Jade, have the new Hessonites in facet 13 emerged yet?"
"No, not yet. But I'll send a Peridot to check on that Kindergarten," Jade said and pressed a few buttons on her screen. An alert appeared in front of both Gems, stating that something important had just occurred on Pink Diamond's first and only colony. "Warning: rouge Rose Quartz on Earth, gem placement: naval. Threatening the empire. Approach with extreme caution." Jade and Yellow Pearl looked at each other with fear in their eyes. "We need to tell our Diamond. Immediately," Jade said, Yellow Pearl nodding in agreement. The two of them entered the room their leader was in and told her the news.
