Lauren's point of view

I groaned and slam my door shut I walk towards my bed and buried my face on my pillow.

I hate myself

For making y/n feel that way, but she kissed me back when I kiss her. Does that mean she still have feelings for me? I sigh and roll on the other side of the bed, she still hold me like the same y/n.

Maybe she's just waiting for me to tell her everything but I don't know if she will understand what I've been going through right now.

My phone vibrate, I pull it out from my pocket to see who message me.

I rolled my eyes when I saw Lucy's name pop on my screen.

Lucy: hey babe I'll be going home to my dad tonight I have to help him on something but i look forward on seeing you tomorrow here at new year's Eve babe! Can't wait to be with you again I already miss you 💞

I sigh she's not the person I want to celebrate New year's Eve to be honest.

To Lucy: sure see you tomorrow.

Yep that's my reply to her long message she doesn't even react at me when she gets clingy and I don't return the same attention to her I believe that she doesn't really love me at all I know that she's just forcing herself but I don't know why.

After this whole game I hope y/n is still waiting for me.

When she asked me for a closure it literally made my heart shattered it hurts to hear that words from her but I can't just let go of her that easily I know there's another way out of this mess.

My phone vibrate again.

I groaned "what now?"

My eyebrows furrowed as I read a message form the private inspector I hired.

Meet me here miss jauregui *addressed attached* I have something important to tell you.

I type a quick okay and get off the bed to grab my things.

I think he got some information for me I really hope this will help me a lot.

I grab my black leather jacket and a snapback just so nobody will notice me that easily since it might be a really important and confidential information.

I head downstairs and open the door to get outside.

I opened my car door and get inside start the engine and drives off to the indicated address.

After a few minutes of ride I stopped in front of an old house that seemed to be abandoned already.

I get off the car and knock on the door.

Soon it was opened by Arthur "come in miss jauregui" I nod and step inside.

My mouth hang open at the sight of the house inside it's totally different from outside its like one of those disguise houses where you will thought it's just an ordinary boring old house but when you step inside it's super different.

"This is my house sorry if it's messy take a sit miss" he apologized and grab a pitcher of water and glass then two folders before walking to me and sitting in my front.

"Here have some water first" i thank him and take a grip on the glass.

"So what's the information that you got for me?" I asked before taking a sip of the water.

"You might not believe what I just found out but it's basically real..." He started then open The first folder.

"So you told me that your father Mr. Mike hired a private investigator right? About the bankrupt that happened in your company" I nod while listening to him very carefully.

"Well turns out that I searched your case at the FBI and other bureau agencies but they told me that no one is assisting your case and your father's private investigator closed the case off because they had been told that it was solved already and it was just two days ago now tell me miss jauregui since when was the last time you heard a word from this investigator?"

"Uh it's been a week all we know is that he told us that he'll handle it but since then he never actually update us" he nod and showed me a paper .

"Look at this miss this is a copy of the status of your father's account in bank and it was stated here that there was nothing taken from his account" I furrowed my eyebrows and bring the glass down.

"So we were not really bankrupted?" I asked and he nod.

"Somehow someone tried to get into his access, but it was full secure so nobody gets in only the one who knows the full access and code in my hypothesis I think that the suspect just hacked into your dad's document but didn't took anything, they just made it invisible to public and everyone to make it look like you got bankrupt"

I stared at him really shocked who would do such things?.

"I think that the private investigator your father hired had been paid to shut their mouth and closed the case instead".

"What are we going to do now?" I asked.

"We need more evidence so far our conclusions are getting right but we still need to find out who is doing this what's their motif and stuffs as much as possible keep this as a secret to your father miss Lauren so our plans won't be exposed" I sigh and just nod.

"That's all of my information for you as of today miss jauregui but I really have a feeling that the culprit is really close to you it was just my hypothesis tho I hope you don't take it in a wrong way" I smile and shook my head.

I actually think so too.

"It's all good thank you so much for your help this information helped me a lot Arthur" he nod and shake my hand.

"Inform me if you get anything alright miss jauregui" I nod as he opened the door for me.

I get inside the car and drives back home.

So it wasn't real.

The bankrupt it was fake and only made by someone but who why what and when.

I sigh and continue to drive.

Soon I reached home I park the car in the garage and head my way inside.

"Where have you been dear?" Dad asked as I made my way into the kitchen.

"I grab some drinks" i lied and they seem to believe it tho.

"Let's eat dinner hun" mom said and I notice that Taylor and Chris were already in the table.

"I don't have appetite I'm going to bed now" I said plainly then went to my room.

This shit is too much to handle. Whoever done this will never be forgiven they ruined my family my life and my relationship with y/n.

I sigh and lay back into my bed.

"Only the person who knew the access and code could open it"

"They want the access".

"They could hack into the documents but they can't get it without the access"

"Access?" I muttered to myself while remembering everything Arthur explained to me a while ago.

"Lauren tell me a secret about your company"

"Maybe about an access"

My eyes suddenly shot wide and my heart starts beating fast.
