Chapter 25: Half-Way Truth

Kevin Hall is Aeon's Late father's name.

Devin is Aeon's older brother.

"I looked out of the window." I didn't say anything for the rest of the ride.

We arrived at auntie Jennfier's house around 8:30. Many cars were parked along the sides of the house. In the driveway, there was enough room from Ashton's car to fit.  There was a group of people outside smoking, Ashton's car immediately caught their attention. I had gotten so used to Ashton's flash batmobile, I completely forgot it was some fancy-ass overpriced car.

He got out of the car and open the door for me.

"Yo, that car is nice!"

"Thanks," Ashton said.

"What is it"

"Its a batmobile." I jokingly replied. Ashton looked annoyed.

"Not quite, it's a Lamborghini Veneno," Ashton's sexy accent came out. I almost forgot speaks Italian.

"Wow, cool," my cousins said.

We went inside the house and soca music was blasting, "this is a dead man party." Ashton spoke in my ear.

"Yup."

My auntie and uncles were in the kitchen sitting on the table. " "I hugged and greed everyone and Ashton shook everyone's hand," I was so impressed by how personable he actually was, I wasn't expecting him to be this friendly and respectful.

Soon later, my brother Devin came into the kitchen with his girlfriend Eva. I was so happy that he found someone, they really mellow each other out. He seemed less arrogant and warmer. A major difference from three years ago.

Eva came over and hugged me and waved to Ashton, "Aeon you look beautiful."

"Thank you, you too."  Eva's a stunning girl. She high-energy woman with a radiant deep-brown complexion. The gurl looked good in any color. Sometimes, I believe she is way too good for Devin.  Eva exudes confidence. On top of that, she's a teacher who loves kids. She helps kids to learn and discover themselves. If that isn't an angel, I'm not sure what is.

Ashton and Devin went outside on the back porch to talk. I stayed in the kitchen chatting with my mom and aunties.

***Ashton & Devin point of view*****

"So you're Aeons boyfriend."

Well, that came straight away. "Yeah"

"How long yall been together?"

"About a month now." taking a sip of my beer.

"I heard that yall are basically living together."

"Due to the unforeseen accident with her apartment," "I told her she could stay with me." There is plenty of room at my penthouse." "Plus, it's not too far from the school."

"Ok," "Mr. Penthouse man." "But don't you think it's little too soon for yall to be living together."

What is this, 21 questions. I thought to myself.  "Not really, at the end-of-the-day, Aeon is an adult." "It was her decision to say "yes" to me." "She could have rejected my offer and that would have been fine with me," I lied. Naturally, I couldn't tell him the truth; that I basically pressured her into staying with me and forced her out of her own apartment half-naked. Regardless of everything, my intentions were pure.  I only wanted to save her from impending doom.  If I told him everything, it would lead to more questions and mostly a fight.
