Shawn POV
After I and Rey parted ways I made my way to the hospital. As I was walking throughout the park my mind wondered off about all the times I was making the same walk as now. Being her friend comes with being familiar with hospitals, I can't count how many times I have been in hospitals.
When I got close to her room I saw the general aka her father outside of the room looking at her. When I got close enough I saw a tear slide down his face making him look like a father and not our boss. I walked closer to him.
"Hello sir, any change?"
I asked as I took the place next to him, I looked throughout the window and saw her, I felt pain inside of me, making it hard to breathe. She looks peaceful like she is sleeping, I wish she was. "It's the same, the doctors are saying she doesn't have good chances," he said as he looked down probably pushing his tears back not wanting to seem weak in front of me. "She is a warrior, sir, she will pull through this like always," I said with a small smile as I looked at her remembering all of the times I was in the same position, looking at her outside of a hospital room. We have been friends for over ten years, the first day we met she was still normal I mean she wasn't the head of a whole unit she was still in training, the story of how we met is not a happy one, it's far from that. He looked at me and gave me a smile that was his way of saying 'thank you', his eyes were filled with so much hope.
We stayed like that for some time, not talking just lost inside our minds.
Rey POV
It was already dark when I got home, the light was on meaning my parents were home. I got inside and saw my family getting ready to eat. After I washed my hands I set next to my brother and made myself a plate. The dinner was quiet we didn't talk much anyway, but that silence was broken by my father "I have news to announce" he cleared his throat before he continued "Today I was asked to take a place of a general that is retiring in a couple of months and I said yes" my dad said with a big smile on his face. "That's amazing. Congrats" we all said with smiles on our faces. "But there is something else" he continued but with a serious expression "It's in London" as soon as he said that silence falls on the table and everyone's smile went into sad one "When do we have to be there?" My mum broke the silence after a couple of mins, she had a sad smile on, she looked at me and my brother with sadness, her eyes were trying to tell us that she is sorry "In two months" he said with a certain sadness in his voice. For the rest of the dinner we didn't talk at all, this wasn't something new it happened a lot I just didn't think that he will do it just months before graduation.
I really wanted to get to know her but now I guess it won't happen. I didn't even realize that I thought of her first before I thought of my boyfriend or my friends. I was used to the moving around to never think that I will stay in one place for too long to be always prepared to move. But this move was different this time I had a reason to stay.
Shawn POV
After 2 hours her mother joined us, she was crying and as soon as she saw her husband she ran hugging him, breaking down as soon as she was in her husband's arms. The sait broke my heart even more.
The three of us sat the whole night sitting in the uncombterble chairs acesionly getting up walking around or getting food or coffee.
In the morning the doctor come checked her and order some test on her and left telling us that he will come and talk to us later. After two hours he come back.
I was still sitting in front of her room while her parents were in the doctor's office, the waiting was killing me I wanted to know what they were saying. It felt like hours before they finally got out, their faces were stained with tears.
"What happened? What did he say?" I asked my heart racing, "She will need another operation her heart is failing from all of the trauma" her father told me his voice cracking as tears started to slide down his face "They said she won't survive it and she can't live without that operation" he finished. We were all crying hugging each other.
