"There's a future in my life I can't foresee. Unless, of course, I stay on course and keep you next to me."
Dani's POV
This past week had to have been complete and utter hell.
Harry never spoke a word to me after I abruptly stopped our kiss.
It was obvious that he tried to make eye contact, but I refused to meet his gaze. I refuse to look at his emerald green eyes. I knew that if I looked into them for long enough, I'd cave.
I was going home in a week to try and convince my parents to let me stick around for the boys' Where We Are tour. I'd grown to love their music and soon enough, Monique and I would find ourselves randomly singing their songs.
Even though they were about to go on tour for their Midnight Memories album, they already started writing new songs.
Regardless that Harry and I aren't on the best terms, I wouldn't change this experience for the world.
----------
We were now in the car, heading to an arena where the boys would perform, "Midnight Memories."
When I say we, I mean Monique, Lou, Lottie, Lux and I.
Lou was like an older sister to me, our personalities were so similar, and I can't help but giggle every time she scolds Harry for something silly.
Lux was the cutest thing ever, I'm completely obsessed. I've babysat her a couple of times, and each time I grow more in love with the little toddler. I noticed that the most interaction Harry and I have had this past week was when he came to see Lux while I was watching her. The way his eyes light up every time he sees her makes my stomach do flips.
Once we arrived at the arena, the crew immediately focused on set up while Lou and I started talking about the boys.
Since Lux was asleep I set her down onto the provided couch, surrounding her with pillows so that she wouldn't fall if she were to turn over.
Helping Lou with her tools and hair appliances, she hesitantly asked me, "s-so, you and Harry?"
I felt my heart drop down to my stomach.
"What about Harry?"
"Well, you guys haven't really been speaking to each other much, from what I've noticed. Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah! I guess we just haven't had the time, really," I said. My voice came out much stronger than what I had expected.
She looked at me curiously, "hmm, okay. Just let me know if anything is wrong, I'd be glad to help. I know Harry can be a mystery sometimes," she chirped.
I smiled, "thanks Lou, that means a lot."
----------
The boys were now performing Midnight Memories. The crew and I were all standing backstage, watching as closely as we could.
I was pacing back and forth, making sure everyone was ready. I finally stopped and decided to take in the amazing performance the boys were giving.
"I know nothing's making sense,"
Harry suddenly glanced to the side of the stage, where we were all standing. Once our eyes met he continued,
"For tonight let's just pretend."
I looked away, feeling my cheeks heat up, but I couldn't hide the smile on my face. Why now?
Monique looked at me questioningly, I simply shrugged, hoping she would drop it, since I had no idea either.
