"i don't think he likes me very much," yixing said.

"it's just cause he just got out of a relationship," minseok explained, "it was pretty bad and so he doesn't trust people easily."

"ah, okay," yixing nodded. it made sense. that's why junmyeon was always so tense around him. but that doesn't make sense, why would he be timid around yixing if he got out of a relationship? it suddenly all made sense to yixing.

oh... maybe he likes guys...

"does he like guys?" yixing asked. kris nodded.

"yeah," kris said, "which is why he asked you if you were gay or not. he wasn't trying to be homophobic or anything, he just didn't want to catch feelings or anything like that."

"woah, he asked you if you were gay?" jimin asked yixing.

"yeah, when i first moved in. my bad, then, i guess i understood him. i'll be nicer now that i know he's not a homophobe," yixing decided, "suppose i shouldn't tell him that i'm not straight, but a pansexual?"

"that would be a very bad idea," jongin said. yixing nodded.

"i'll keep it quiet then," yixing said. junmyeon walked back into the kitchen/dining room area.

"uh, baekhyun texted you like thirty times," junmyeon said awkwardly. yixing frowned, turning over the steaks before grabbing the phone from junmyeon. their fingers brushed together accidentally, something out of a cliche movie, but yixing pretended not to notice how soft junmyeon's hand was.

"oh, shit, i should call him," yixing said after reading the messages.

"ARE YOU ALIVE?" baekhyun screeched at full volume. yixing winced, holding the phone away from his ear and deciding to just put it on speaker so that he could focus on cooking.

"yes, baek, i'm alive," yixing answered.

"WELL IF YOU'RE ALIVE, THEN ANSWER YOUR FUCKING PHONE!" jongdae yelled, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED WE WERE? TAO STARTED CRYING IN CHINESE BECAUSE HE THOUGHT SOMETHING HAPPENED TO YOU!"

"i'm sorry," yixing laughed slightly, "i didn't have my phone on me. otherwise i'd have responded."

"why didn't you have your phone?" another voice piped in. it sounded really familiar.

"oh, hey, sehun," yixing said, "ah, i didn't have my phone because i'm cooking right now. what's up?"

"eh, nothing much. i was hanging out with baek, dae, and tao. they texted you to see if you wanted to hang out but then started having heart attacks when you didn't answer," sehun said.

"ah, okay," yixing nodded, "have you all eaten yet?"

"no, we were a bit busy freaking out," jongdae said, "why, what're you cooking?"

"kimchi, steak, rice, fire noodles and i was thinking of making sweet rice cakes but i don't know," yixing replied, "you should come over, i'll feed you."

"damn, you cooking for a bus load of people or what?" sehun joked.

"uh, kinda," yixing replied, "i mean, jimin's here, and i'm also cooking for my roommate and his friends."

"of course you are. you're too nice," sehun laughed slightly.

"nah. they happened to be hungry at the time i was gonna cook so i figured i might as well just make enough for everyone," yixing answered, then working on the spicy noodles.
