From a young age, I had strong hands that held me tightly as I was afraid of change.
They encouraged me to walk forward but not to be afraid of falling as they were always there to dust the tiny bits of grass on me and lifted me back up.
They showed me the true meaning of love in the best possible ways and how sacrifices for those you loved meant more than just giving up their plate of food just so that I could go to bed fed.
It meant that I could have a future full of opportunities as they sold everything they owned, but it wasn't about the value of those assets that mattered to them. It was seeing my face beam of happiness, seeing me grow up right in front of their eyes and making sure I made them proud at the end of the day.
It didn't matter to them if they had to work all day without having a single meal, as long as I had an education then they were content, me excelling would be their reward for their sacrifices.
They have showered me with such affection that at times, it makes me feel as though I'm the luckiest person on this earth to experience such love, a love that knows no boundaries, has no price but has the value of something that can never be replaced.
