The voice of the driver brought her out of her reverie "Hajiya we are here already." She opened her bag to pay him his bill before stepping out of the tricycle. She headed towards the hospital's entrance with the child still fast asleep in her arms.

"Mrs Mahmoud Jalo." She told the nurse at the reception who welcomed her with a smile.

"Your file has been taken to the doctor ma'am he will see you shortly, in the mean time let me check her up." She said looking at the little girl in her arms. She reluctantly handed her over to the nurse who checked her temperature and took some other necessary informations.

"She has a really running temperature but not to worry she'll be fine after seeing the doctor." She said handing the child back to Habeebah.

Walking into the doctor's office she greeted. He was already going through their file "Mrs Jalo?" He called out after noticing her presence "Please do have a sit". Dr. Habib has always been their family doctor, a tall thick fellow who is always nice and welcoming. The room was quite bigger than any normal doctor's office she had seen, there was a cabinet at the far end of the room which contained lots of files, different medical charts hung on the wall, a couch was set along side a glass table and the scanning machine was placed beside the stretcher bed. A curtain divide that part of the room from where the doctor's table was set. He sure has a good taste.

"Please lie her here for examination." The doctor said indicating the examination bed. After examining the child, he turned to her "The baby's temperature is high. She will be administered drip and injections for some few hours to calm her down. She will be fine there is nothing to worry about it's just a mild fever, I will prescribe some drugs for you to get at the pharmacy."

Walking out of the room to the pharmacy, she decided to call Umma. It's been long sinced they got in touch with one another, she answered after two rings.

"Salaam Alaykum Habeebah, how are you and the kids?" She asked from the other end of the line.

"Wa alaykum salaam Umma I am fine but Hanaan isn't, she developed a high fever last night so I had to bring her to the hospital. She will be placed on drip and injections to calm the temperature down. I don't know if you're less busy because there's something important I want to talk to you about, so I was thinking you could come over." She said with relief.

"What is it my dear? Which hospital are you at?" Umma asked her daughter with keen interest.

"Maa, I am at the family hospital and besides it's not an issue we can talk about on phone, we need to see in person." Habeebah said blinking away the tears that were starting to gather in her eyes.

"Okay I'll be right on my way." Umma said before hanging up. On her way back to the ward, she grabbed some appetizer from a food canteen not forgetting to pass a call to Hajara informing her about the current situation and also telling her to take care of the kids that she would be back soon.

"Maami where have you been all this while, I am very hungry and this thing is paining my hand." Hanaan pouted referring to the drip.

"Easy there little one, mummy went to get your medicine and look she also got you food." Habeebah added raising the leather bag to the girl whose eyes were now full of light. Hannan is a little girl of five, she is a replica of her father. Her tan skin, long shiny black hair and beautiful brown eyes makes her stand out among her peers. She is also an intelligent girl who talks a lot which reminds her of when she was also little.

"Maami, give me the food." Hanaan said making an attempt to grab the leather bag from her mother who swiftly took the bag by her side.

"Ahh...ahh young lady, you can't eat while the drip is on, I will feed you when it's finished in the meanwhile Iet me sing for you." Habeebah told the girl who was now smiling like a Cheshire cat.
