"Will you at least say something? You have been parading this room for a while now." Humairah voiced anxiously. They retired back to Habeebah's room as she had asked but all the woman has been doing since they came in, was parading the whole place.
"I want to move out." She blurted biting her nails.
"What?" Humairah asked, eyes wide. "You want to move out? Tell me you're kidding?" She added confused.
"Yeah that's not an option." Habeebah muttered discarding the thought.
Humairah looked at her like she had gone mental. "Did something happen? Why are you saying this?"
"What do you think I should do then?" Habeebah asked slouching into the ottoman.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"I am not." She groaned in response. "Everything is messed up."
"Tell me about it?" Humairah asked faintly.
"I was thinking perhaps if the kids should change their environment, then they would worry less about this whole thing and probably forget it too." She replied with complete irritation.
"But you still haven't told me what exactly occurred that led you to making this decision?" Humairah said, hands under her chin.
"Alot happened yesterday..." She told her sister all that happened, leaving the lady with a slack jaw. "Unfortunately, I underestimated their thinking."
"Wow! That's...that's huge." Humairah whispered gulping loudly.
"You can say that again." Habeebah inaudibly said, eyes closed.
"First of all, you need to calm down okay? I mean take a look at yourself Habeebah, you look...I am sorry to say__miserable. If you don't look after yourself, how would you deal with the problem at hand? I know I'm not supposed to be saying this now but I can't help it." Humairah voiced upset.
"I really don't know what to do, I'm utterly confused." She replied with an exasperated sigh.
"I know it must have hit you hard but babe, moving out of the house isn't an option either. Besides, where would you move out to? You need to relax and think rationally okay? I know you’re worked up and all but you really need to chill out a little.” Humairah reasoned with a small smile.
“God! I am so foolish sometimes, what was I thinking leaving home? I seriously need to pull myself together. I…shouldn’t have uttered that, i…it’s just..” Habeebah said panicking.
“Calm down, it is bound to happen. Just relax and I would also suggest you take a day or two off from work, so as to rest your head.”
“No! I honestly don’t think I can, that is the only way I’ll be able to take things of my mind.” She opposed shaking her head.
“Exactly my point, you are always working yourself up till the point of exhaustion. It needs to stop.” Humairah spat angered.
“But sister please try to und…” Habeebah tried explaining but was cut short by the beeping of her phone indicating she has a call. Glancing down to it, Bukar’s name popped up on the screen. Wondering why he must be calling, she reluctantly answered placing it to her right ear.
“Good day Sir! It’s a surprise you are calling.” She says peeking up to see Humairah signaling her she would heading downstairs.
“Hello there! How are you doing?” Bukar replied.
“I am very well, thank you. To what do I owe this call?” She asked standing up to sit on the bed.
“Actually, I heard from Ilhaam that you’re quite unwell so, I called to check on you.” He answered, a hint of worry in his voice. How was she to forget that Ilhaam won’t keep her mouth sealed.
