The court is unexpectedly full today, everyone is here as it's the last and final hearing which means, it would all be decided today as to who gets the custody of the children and who doesn't. Humairah, Farouk, Suhaib and even Abdulhameed are all here waiting for the court to open as there is still some few minutes left. Habeebah's in-laws also arrived a while back but this time around, Firdaus and Khalid came along.
Habeebah is sitted on the stairway long lost in thought, she is more than restless. Whether or not she gets the custody of her kids, it would all be determined today. She just hopes and prays that everything falls in her favour.
"Habeebah?" Aisha said touching her shoulder making her startled.
Habeebah is brought out of her reverie and immediately recognizes the person standing in front of her. "Aisha? It is you right?" Habeebah asked touching her face. "OMG! It is you, what are you doing here?" She asked now smiling.
"I came here for someone special, even though she didn't see it necessary to share her worries with me, I still care." Aisha replied sitting close to her.
"I am sorry, everything was just messy and complicated that's why, I couldn't even think straight." Habeebah said sadly.
"Hey! You don't need to worry now, what you need is your strength. The Habeebah I know is a very resilient and a tough fighter, we are all here for you." Aisha said nodding towards her family.
"I am really lucky to have you as my best friend," Habeebah beamed hugging her. "How did you know I was here? Weren't you supposed to have returned back to the UK?" Habeebah asked pulling away.
"I have been in contact with Adda Humairah, she has been keeping me informed," Aisha replied winking to Humairah who winked back."And besides after Hauwa's wedding, I have been in Abuja to stay with my in-laws for a while. She told me today was the last and final hearing, so I arrived Yola yesterday afternoon." She added wiping the bits of sweat on her nose with a handkerchief.
"You still sweat on your nose?" Habeebah asked chuckling lightly.
"You know it only happens when I talk for long." Aisha replied discarding the handkerchief.
"Thank you dearest, I love you so much." Habeebah said gently squeezing her hand.
"You're welcome and I love you too." Aisha smiled returning the gesture.
"When you two are done confessing your love for each other, join us inside." Humairah verballed sarcastically rolling her eyes.
"She is a drama queen." Aisha whispered quietly.
"I didn't say that." Habeebah said smiling.
"Are you ready?" Aisha asked as they stood in front of the courtroom.
Habeebah let's out a sigh "Never been, let's do this."
Few minutes after they had settled in, Bukar motioned to Habeebah wanting to speak to her. She understands and makes way to his table.
"How are you doing?" He asked in hushed tone as she came closer.
"I am fine thank you." She replied with a small smile.
"Everything will be concluded today you should be hopeful, Allah is with us." He assured nodding.
"I am hopeful Sir, very hopeful." Habeebah replied sighing.
"What about the Doctor? Is he going to show up?" Bukar asked concerned.
"He didn't give me a definite answer, he said he'll think about it." She replied exhausted.
