I wake up in the light of the morning, Carl's arm lays heavily across my chest. I throw the sheet off my body.

Carl hums in response to my movements, "Mornin'," I say pushing his arm off of me. He rolls over with his eyes open, "You are so beautiful," he mumbles as I pick up my clothes from the floor.

"Thank you, sheriff, but get dressed," I say, he chuckles and walks over to the closet. I pull on my clothes and snatch the flannel from his hands, I put it on and roll up the sleeves. "Really?" Carl asks as he dresses, "Yes, really," I say, I walk out of the room and into Judith's nursery.

"Hey girly," I whisper, pulling Judith from her crib, "Everyone's awake," I say. I can hear the door open from up here. I frown and walk slowly downstairs.

"Rick?" I ask as he walks into the house, "Where's Carl," he questions, I point to the stairs. I nod as he walks past me. I can hear Carl and Rick upstairs, "Dad I'm coming with you. I can testify for you," Carl says as the two men walk down the stairs.

"Fine, I know you'll just sneak in anyway, it's at Deanna's. As soon as the sun sets and the kids are in bed," Rick says walking back out the door. "What was that about?" I question with a frown, "His trial is tonight," Michonne says from the kitchen.

I walk into the kitchen. "Do you have any idea what our chance of winning is?" I ask, the woman shrugs. "None. But we all have jobs to do and school to get to so we should get going," she says.

I nod and look over at Carl, "I'll see you later," I say as I grab  my books and clipboard off the counter. He takes Judith, "See you," he says.

I walk to the garage where school is held, Rosie smiles at me, "We're not having class today so you have a day off. I didn't want the other kids to get upset because of the trial," she says.

"I get it, thanks Rosie. Have a good day," I tell her before I'm off to Deanna's. Reg stops me on at the front door, "She's having a meeting with Maggie right now."

I nod, "You know that if Rick is forced out we'll go to. Some won't want too and others won't want to leave him. One way or another you'll be short sixteen strong people," I say. "Deanna will take that into consideration," Reg says.

"I truly hope so because none of us can survive another year out there," I say. I leave and wander down the street since I have absolutely nothing to do today. I take a deep breath of the crisp autumn air.

I stop subconsciously at the infirmary. I sigh and walk into the building, Rosita jumps from the noise. "Go home and get some rest," I tell her, she shakes her head and settles back into the chair.

I pull one up to the opposite side of the bed, "Why do you care so much?" I ask. Rosita stares at me for a whole five minutes, "I don't know," she finally answers.

"Then go home. Take a shower and sleep in your bed. Yesterday was the first time you were home in five days. I can make sure she doesn't die or turn while you're gone," I tell her.

Rosita finally nods, "Okay but I'll be back before the trial," she says. "Fine, just go rest," I say. the woman leaves and I pick up one of the books from the table.

Rosita comes back just before sundown, "You look better already," I say with a smile as I stand. "Thanks for watching over her," she says, sitting in her usual seat.

"I'm actually going to the trial. I just wanted to tell you that she'll be fine without a chaperone for a couple of hours," Rosita says. "That's what I've been trying to tell you," I say, the woman smiles.

"Well then I'll see you tomorrow," she tells me. I nod and we both leave the building. "Shoot," I mutter, I forgot the book that I found in the infirmary, Rosita must've read it to Tara but what I read of it was good.
