Pain erupts through me, "Elaine!" a gruff voice calls. I gasp out as I try to sit up. "H-help!" I say as loudly as I can.

My body is shaking and I can feel blood and early morning dew in my hair, I look around me. "Carl!" I yell. My voice is scratchy with lack of use and the inhalation of smoke. "Carl!" I yell out again.

A conversation starts before footsteps tumble my way. "Come here," Daryl coos grabbing my arms. "Ah-Ahh," I gasp as he pulls me up.

"Where are the others monkey," he asks, I shake my head. "I-I don't know," I say burrowing into his chest.

"I got them both out before it exploded but Carl was right here," I whisper. Rick emerges with Enid in his arms, "CARL!" he yells startling me.

I look at my dad, he nods and lets go of my arms so I can make sure Enid is okay. Rick hands me a blanket with things inside.

Daryl walks off to follow the tracks that Carl probably left if he when to go find help. I barely hear him run off as he leaves.

I open one of the bottles of water and drink some before I dump the items out of the blanket, I cover Enid with it. Her nose must be broken because it's swollen slightly and heavily bruised.

I check Enid's pulse, its faint but steady, "I should go help," Rick says as he kneels next to me. "Go," I say Rick nods and places his hand on my back. Rick stands and begins to walk away, "Wait, can I have a gun?" I ask.

Rick stops and turns to me, he hands me his gun, "Keep her safe," he says quietly before he rushes to follow the path that my father took to find his son.

A gunshot sounds then a shower of bullets are fired. I stand with my gun ready but everything is blurry, my ears are ringing. Something grabs me, I yell as I fall to the ground with a walker on me. I manage to get my gun under it's jaw.

It's head explodes with a sicken bang that makes my stomach turn. I push the thing off my body. I manage to get up onto my knees. Bile crawls up my throat and I puke into the grass. I can feel liquid on my ear, I move my fingers to my ear.

I stare down at my hand, the slick coat of blood makes me sick. I stand up with most of my support coming from a tree. Walkers are coming my way. I stumble forward over Enid, I push the walker to the ground.

I stomp on its head until its brains are a sticky mess on the ground. Rick runs over to me, I gasp and he picks up Enid and throws her over his shoulder.  I gasp as he grabs my arm. He drags me behind him, "Carl! Where's Carl?" I ask him. Suddenly we're at a car, Carl runs from across the road.

His bandage is bloody and his hair is wet with sweat. I open my arms and he dives into them, "Are you okay?" He asks as he grabs my face. I nod, "We gotta go!" Daryl yells.

Carl pushes me toward the car, I rush into the open door. Rick places Enid's head in my lap, "What happened?" I ask. Another wave of nausea hits me and even the noise of the car stating is too much for my ears. I look up at Carl who doesn't look like he took much damage, "I'm okay," he says. I nod, I can't hold my eyes open anymore.
