Elsa's POV.
I've been living here in the enchanted forest for about 2 months now. The Northuldra tribe has been more than welcoming, especially Honeymaren. She's actually my closest friend out here! Although it may seem that everything has fallen into place, something still feels kind of.... off.
It's strange because I finally understand the reason that I've been given my powers and how to use them in ways I never could before. But there's something missing. "Gale?" I spoke quietly against the wind, "can you send this to my sister?" I asked as I held up a small piece of paper that provided a response to the letter that she sent yesterday. I was going to ride out to Arendelle this Friday on my horse to play charades and spend the night with my sister just to catch up for the week. It was kind of our thing. I couldn't wait.
"Elsa!" Honeymaren's voice sprang through the air, "Would you like to come with Ryder and me on a picnic with the reindeer?" An awkward silence fell into the air between us as I really didn't feel up to it. "Sure..." I responded as my voice dwindled. "Great!!" She said with more excitement than necessary in her voice.
We all went back to camp and grabbed some food for the picnic. As we were walking, Honeymaren kept her eyes locked on me. "Are you okay, Elsa?"
I felt my face grow hot as anxiety poured into my chest. "Yeah.... well no. I'm not feeling very well for some reason." I responded as this wave of insecurity and sadness swelled in my chest. "I think I might need to go out to the river for a while..." Honeymaren looked down at her feet, "well, if that's what you need, then you should probably go as soon as you can right?" She reached for my hand. "You need to do what you have to do to feel better. Don't let your happiness slip away from you. It's better you solve this problem before it gets worse."
She was so considerate and thoughtful. I was so lucky to have her as a friend. So I did as she said. I bid both of my friends goodbye and called to my horse, and with that, I spent the rest of the week out in Ahtohallan trying to understand why I was feeling so.... distraught.
