Matthew shook his head, withdrawing the intact bullets out of his revolver. Blue and red lights flashed through the window while Beyoncé stored herself away and cleaned her mess up while her father exited their home.

As always, neighbors stood outside trying to dig in on the commotion. Matthew opened his hole-ridden front door and walked outside barefoot.

A few minutes later, Beyoncé was at her father's side, peering up curiously at the cops who looked like Oreos as a pair.

With donut crust decorating his mustache, the tall, dark skinned officer asked, "Was it a nigga?" His pearly teeth no longer hid behind his lip, he smiled slyly and nodded towards Matthew.

The white officer coughed and exited the budding conversation. Matthew looked toward the man and shook his head, "I didn't quite see," he lied.

"Shit, if it was, unfortunately you missed. That would've been another biting the dust." He wore a snarl on his face, Beyoncé's eyes squeezed together in confusion.

"Go inside, Ju."

Beyoncé didn't have a rebuttal, instead she followed her father's orders and took her behind inside.

"You know, you're the reason why the black community is fucked up. It's house niggas like you who serve as molded goods in a good batch." Matthew shook his head in the negative, his thumb swiped across his own nose in anger.

"Sir, there isn't much we can do with little to no information on the suspect." The white one was back, with a sorrow look on his face and an empty notepad.

Matthew shook it off, "as always," he thought to himself.

"Figured. You two have a great night."

He gave them no time to reply and made way back into his home.

The sun didn't take long to rise, but Beyoncé couldn't tell because she was well rested. It was the weekend and she'd been ready to get outside.

"What we doing today?" Her voice was soft, with a rasp that only heightened her accent. Shawn and Ermias shrugged their shoulders while they sat on Bey's porch.

Their eyes shot across the street when they heard a car door slam. A little girl peered back at the group of kids with a grocery bag in her hands, her lips opened to showcase her teeth.

Beyoncé stood up from the chair she was sitting on and found quick interest in the little green eyed, sandy colored hair girl she'd never seen before.

"Get ya lil' hot ass in the house," Beyoncé heard the older woman say.

She chuckled when their screen door closed, but her eyes never left from across the street.

"Who was that?" Beyoncé finally looked down at her guys.

"That was Robyn, they moved here a couple of months back." Shawn was in a trance also.
