Chapter Twenty-four-
"Back To Reality"
___
It had been a long day, the night arose. The stars sang their lullabies, while the trees fell asleep. I wish this night never ended. I wish time stopped... Too bad this isn't some fairytale. A laugh spilled out of me. That was random, but I felt it was necessary. You don't live the same moment twice... I look at the distance in the backyard. If only, Kim could enjoy the fields of grass. If only we could go back- I would do anything to save her. I start to feel tears run down my cheek, falling from my chin. Ah, there they go. I felt they would soon burst anytime. She must feel so much worse.
I'm back, the darkness is back. It's quiet and eerie. Soon interrupted by a faint cry. It sounded distorted- "Don'T fOrgET, yOU CausEd thIS" Suddenly followed by multiple voices. "YoU dON't bELoNg hEre" "notHINg bUT a FilthY liAR" "sTOp beIng SUCh A bITc-" "YoU-" "CRy aLL yoU waNT yOUr nOt-" "liStEN herE y-" "St" "yOU wAn-
"MAKE IT ALL STOP!!!" I cried as I begged. Stone-cold silence with echoes fading as I gasped. I plant my hands on my expression in urge of trauma. Whimpering as I search to wipe my tears. Nothing. My face is nearly dry. I see light in my vision as I sense Deja Vu. This is like last time. I begged it to stop and reached to wipe my tears- they had gone. Every time I cry, I- "Squeak-" I saw the steps beside me. "What are you doing out here, honey?" I couldn't speak. I was traumatized. It had never become so brutal and... realistic. Holding back the fear, I headed inside. "Are you sure you're okay on the couch?" I pull the blanket over me, "I told you, I'm fine! It's pretty comfy if I say so myself." She gives me a warm smile, then heads back upstairs. I shift to sleep as the static of footsteps wither into the distance. Good night... The voice in my head whispers.
Goodnight.
