Everyday Gift

I felt relieve after the call. I decided to take a bath first before finally cuddle to my bed. Maybe it can help myself refresh a little bit. While taking the bath Ivan can't get rid of my mind , for god's sake what should I do to myself just to forget this fucking man! I used my blower to dry my hair after taking a bath then go to bed and hug my huge pillow until I certainly fall into a deep sleep.

'Kring... Kring...Kring...' I wake up because of the uproarious ring of my alarm clock. I grab and turn it off, put it back to the table and go to the bathroom to take a bath before going downstairs. After that I go to the dinette and toast some bread and fried egg for my breakfast as usual before going to my workplace.

"Good morning Cath!" Jennie greeted with a wide smile on his face.

"Morning too Jen, mukhang ang saya natin ngayong umaga ahh, What's with that smile?" I asked. Nagtaka kasi ako ehh pano ba naman parang may panunukso sa ngiti nya. Parang may ipinapahiwatig.

"The answer is on your table, just go inside." she open the door widely and
point out my table.

I swiftly march on my way to the table and saw a bouquet of my favorite roses. 'Sino ang nagpadala nyan?' I saw a small piece of letter that attached to the bouquet, I pick it up and read it.

"Just a little gift for you Cath, I hope you like it. From now on I send you this flowers everyday."

Oh God! It's from Ivan sabi ko na nga ba.

"My admirer na tayo ngayon siszt! Haba ng hair." Jennie stated while approaching near to my table. This girl is so importunate.

"It's not what you think. It's from my... ahh... a friend of mine." I lied.

"Wee? Friend? Really?How sweet naman sana magkaroon  rin ako ng friend like yours." pangigigil niya.

"Someday you can get one."

"Tika, How about the issue that you cover up yesterday. Nakakuha kana ba ng information Cath?" she diverted the topic.

"Hmm. Yes I have some pero kulang pa ito. I need to gather more and I need to make sure that its the fact." I explained to her."    

Basically, speaking of the issue  as a reporter we need to be alert everytime we are assigned to cover a certain issue. Hindi madali para sa amin ang trabahong ito but we can stand it out kasi this is our career.

"Oh, I see. Sige Cath may tatapusin pa akong paperworks." she finally go to her table. Atleast wala ng kulitan. Kung saan-saan pa naman mapunta ito kung magtanong. Buong araw kung iginugol ang oras sa trabaho para lang maiwasan ang pag-iisip kay Ivan. Nang dumating ang hapon ay tsaka lang ako nagkaroon ng oras na magpahinga.

"Sa wakas!" I sighed.

"Are you done?" si Jennie ng nakita niya akong tumayo.

"Yeah." I answered lazily and put together the papers back to their designated places.

"Tapos na din 'yung sakin, so let's go." she utter.

"Okay." I simply replied and go after her.

"I'll just fetch you in your condo at 6:30 pm Cath." Jennie said ng makalabas kami sa office.

"Sige Jen. Take care." I replied. Ganon rin ang mga kasamahan namin sa trabaho na nadatnan namin sa labas ng office na naghihintay sa kanilang mga sundo.

Akmang pumara na sana ako ng taxi ng may lumapit sa akin.

"Hey, would you care if I invite you for a ride para narin maka save ka." Si Lexin. Isang kasamahan ko sa trabaho na pinaka hate ko noon pero noon yun kasi humingi na sya ng tawad sa 'kin. Naging casual na rin kami ngayon at magkakasundo na.

"I'm fine, mag-taxi nalang ako. Nakakahiya naman sayo maabala pa kita." I smiled and point out the taxi that's coming.

"No, It's fine with me di naman ako nagmamadali. Just let me." He slowly open the door of his car. Wala na akong ibang magawa kundi pumayag.

"Ok."

It's not a long ride after dahil malapit lang naman ang condominium ko. He asked some random questions on our way to my condo. Sinagot ko naman 'yun. Tsaka binigyan ko  siya ng tamang direksiyon kung saan yung condo ko.

"Just drop me over there." I point out the red gate.

"This is your place?" he asked when the car stops near the gate.

"Oh yes, thanks for the ride anyways." I thanked him generously.

"Your always welcome anytime Cath. Wait I'll just open the door for you."

"No, I'm fine. I can do it Lex."

"I know but let me do it for you." he insisted and open the door for me.

or the past months he changed a lot, di katulad noon na makasarili.

"Thanks again, I'll go inside now." I thanked him again.

"Okay, see yah later." He  waved.

I went inside and do some home rituals and fixed myself for the party. I hope I can enjoy tonight.
