It has been a few days since we checked up on our four favourite boys. It was currently the beginning of their first weekend at Hogwarts.

They had just finished their lunch when James had an 'amazing' idea. They had heard rumours about there being a creature called the Giant Squid in the Black Lake on the Hogwarts grounds. Of course, James had been on about it all the time since he found out. And today, Remus finally gave in. "Pleaseeeeee Remus," He asked for the fifth time today.
"Okay, okay but please...don't get me involved in whatever punishment you receive, " Remus sighed. And the four made their way down to the lake.

Excitement was buzzing through Sirius. He couldn't wait to find out if this was true or not. I mean, a huge squid?! I'm the middle of a lake....in a school!? It had to be a lie. When they finally arrived, they set up next to a tree on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. They would venture there sometime this year. Right now, there focus was on the lake - and Remus was glad.

"Do you reckon it can talk?" Asked Peter.
"Of course not! Did you even read the Care of Magical Creatures book we were given over summer?" Remus replied, rolling his eyes, he was good at that they had picked up.
"Nope," All three of them said smirking at him.
"Honestly Remus..sometimes you sound like my mum!" Said James. Remus gulped at that. Was he really that annoying he sounded like someone's mum? James almost immediately realised his mistake, " not that you are of course, " He glanced at him and smiled slightly. Remus smiled back.

Once they reached the lake, Sirius spoke. "Okay folks, roll up roll up the infamous Sirius Black will now present you with...The Giant Squid!" He said casting some sort of 'spell' over the lake trying to justify himself. They all laughed and began throwing rocks into the Lake to try and wake up the Squid.

"Come on!" Peter yelled trying to throw a large rock in but ending up throwing it at Sirius ' head. James laughed. Remus...did not. "Are you okay?!" He asked helping up.
Sirius turned slightly red in the face, "Yep..m'okay," He replied. And they started throwing rocks at it again. Honestly do they ever listen? Remus thought, going back to his book near the tree.

The boys tried again a few times before deciding to give up. Will Sirius and James did. On there way back to the tree, they heard a tell and Remus looked over wide-eyed. "Oh my god Peter got caught!" He yelled pointing behind them. The two swivled around and , sure enough, there he was. Dangling mid-air by the Squid's tentical. The three boys immediately stated throwing rocks at it - again.

Eventually, they managed to get the Squid to release it's grip. They didn't know if it got tired or it was them. At this point, neither cared. "Merlin's balls Peter try and listen to us next time!" Remus yelled on their way back.
He laughed nervously, "Yeah okay your probably right," Peter grinned. The boys made there way back to the dorms so they could dry off before dinner.

Meanwhile, Severus Snape was talking to Lily about the incident that happened in the Great Hall. Lily hadn't been talking to him since then. "Honestly Lily, I never meant to hurt his feelings!" Snape lied.
"I know you wouldn't intend to do that Sev but you have to give Rem a chance yes he's...a little different but that doesn't make him less valuable of a friend!" She sighed looking at him. "Okay Lils..I'll be more careful with my words next time," Severus smiled slyly ( not that Lily noticed of course). "Thank you," She smiled.
"Wanna go to the library before dinner?" He suggested, now happy again.
"Okay come on then!" She said happily - glad it was over now. She knew Remus would have easily forgiven him or forgotten by now.

They made there way to the Library, smiles painting both of their faces.

Severus smiled at himself. Whether anybody likes it or not, he had Lily Evans wrapped tightly around his finger. She knew his background and he usually used that as an excuse. He knew one day she would eventually give up being civil with him - but he would found new slytherins friends by then. He grinned to himself at the thought.
